10 nuggets of wisdom for your Sunday (Part 205)

God is doing something new today. His mercies are new every morning. Expect new things in your life. Expect God things in your life. He is going to replace the old with new blessings that don’t compare to your present suffering.

Don’t let yourself be pushed around by fear and anxiety. Push them around with faith and hope and kick them out of your system. God is stronger than fear.

The Lord is fully aware of your situation. He had seen it before it happened to you. He also knows how He is going to get you out of it and how the end is going to be perfect. Don’t lose hope. God knows how to help you!

Don’t let the world take over your world. Don’t let the world take over the Lord in you. Give God first place. Give God’s Word your undivided attention. Let the Lord in you be bigger than the world that is trying to dominate you.

God will put an end to this suffering. God will put an end to this pain. God will put an end to the lack and the losses. God will put an end to what is trying to end you. Stay strong in the Lord. Keep believing. God is going to do something great for you.

Jesus came to give you life and to give it to you abundantly. Thank Him for the abundance in your life. Thank Him before you see it. Thank Him because you know it belongs to you. Thank Him because He did it all for you. Jesus came to save you and your salvation is here and now.

There is nothing the Lord can’t do. There are no problems too big for Him. God can do the impossible. Remind yourself of the miracles that belong to you in the name of Jesus. Revive the hope in His name. Stay confident that the impossible is always possible with Him. Stay encouraged!

When you are sitting on the verge of a nervous breakdown, know that God is sitting there with you. He is comforting you and He is going to get you to the other side of this. Give Him your fears, your anxiety and your stress. He will remove them and give you a clean slate of peace and joy.

Know that this life with God is always about how much Jesus you put in it. How much Jesus you listen to. How much Jesus you trust. How much Jesus you speak into your life. How much Jesus you follow. Your life of victory is about how much Jesus you allow yourself to believe and to express!

There are always new beginnings with God. Today could be the start of a new chapter of your life. Trust God with your story. Believe that He has a very good plan for your life. Praise Him for new mercies and new beginnings!

5 essential keys

There is a door that opens the way to a place where peace reigns, joy is strong and faith is everywhere. There are five keys that open that door. Each key is precious and powerful. God has given us the keys to getting to that place. It is not a place far away. If you believe in God, you might have been to that place and you might be living there. If those keys are on your keychain, I encourage you to use them all the time. Open that door and keep it open. Step inside that place and stay there. make yourself at home in that place. Get comfortable and don’t leave it. We tend to travel too much when the Lord wants us to stay in His house and enjoy His presence. Let me talk about the 5 keys today. I hope you will take the keys and open the door to a place where God is always present and doubt and fear are banned.

Key#1: Faith. Faith is the key that allows us to know God and to communicate with Him. Without faith we can’t please God. Without faith we can’t know God. We should always hold the key of faith and keep it very close to us. That key is the answer to all our problems, fear, and worries. The key of faith locks fear and doubt out of our lives. When fear and doubt try to get inside our dwelling place, faith blocks them and ignores them. They might be knocking on the door but faith keeps them away. They have no right to barge in and faith knows that well. The key of faith is the key to a healthy relationship with the Lord. It is crucial and it is very powerful.

Key#2: Love. Faith without love is nothing. We need faith to know God but it has to be accompanied by love. Love is the most important key even though I listed it as the second key. Love is why you and I are here. Love is the reason why we are saved. It is why Jesus came and died in our place. Love brought Him back to life and gave us eternal life. Love is more powerful than anything and anyone. Love conquers all. Love never fails. Love has won. Love will never lose a battle. God is love. Love is more than a symbol of God’s presence. Love is God with us. Let’s use the key of love every single day. It opens more doors than we know.

Key#3: Communion with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is a Person. He is a gift from Jesus. He is the gift that keeps on giving. He is the gift that will never let us down and that will always give us what we need. He is the gift that the world needs. He is the gift that connects us to Jesus. The Holy Spirit takes us to a place of peace where Jesus is King. When we turn the key of communication with the Holy Spirit all the time, we open the door to a union and a communion that is holy and pure. We open the door to knowing Jesus, which is primordial and more than necessary.

Key#4: Prayer. Prayer will never get old. I can’t get enough of prayer and I pray every day. Jesus taught us to pray in His Word. If He talked about it, it means that it is something we should take very seriously. Prayer is talking to God and hearing from God. Prayer is the link that attaches us to the Father and that gives us access to His heart. Pray every day. Pray when you feel like it and when you don’t. Pray because God is listening. Pray because God is talking. Pray and you will be in the house of the Lord all the time. Pray and you will open the door to many blessings.

Key#5: Praise. God inhabits the praises of His people. When you pray, the presence of the Lord comes. Praise is an expression of your adoration to the Lord and He hangs out with you on a different level. Praise is faith speaking and acting. Praise defeats the enemy and gives us hope. Praise is what we need every day but we don’t turn to it enough. Praise the Lord and doors will unlock that you didn’t think could ever open. Praise is the key that opens possibilities and that gives you an advantage over your negative circumstances. Praise the Lord all the time and you will be in the house of the Lord where His joy is your strength.

You have the keys. Thank God for each one of them. May God bless you and protect you and remember that He will always love you!

Jesus, I truly…

The other day I saw a big sign on a church that read “Jesus, I truly trust in You.” I love seeing this sign and I embrace its message. I trust in the Lord and I want everything in me to declare, “Jesus, I truly trust You.” However, there are times when everything in me is saying “Jesus I truly don’t know what to do” or “Jesus, I truly want to trust You but right now I am struggling.” I am human just like anyone else and with that comes doubt and fear at times. I am learning to overcome them and to delete them from my life. One thing I know for sure is that I can’t conquer them on my own. Every I have to say “Jesus, I truly need You.” I say it when I pray in the morning. I say it a few times during the day. I am dependent on Him. I am not good enough or strong enough to make it on my own. I need Him. I have to rely on Him. I can’t live without Him. It is very humbling when we confess that we are nothing without God. When I first started saying that during prayer time, my flesh didn’t like it. My flesh would tell me that I could do a lot on my own and I had to trust that I was strong enough. I was made strong outside of God in my life and I could turn to God once I had run out of energy of my own. The truth is that without Jesus I am nothing and with Him I am someone and that someone is an overcomer. “Jesus, I truly need You and trust You” is one of my mantras and I live by it. What do you tell Jesus on a daily basis? What comes after “Jesus, I truly..”?

I am inviting you today to spend time watching what you tell the Lord. Do you rely on Him wholeheartedly? Does your “Jesus, I truly..” declaration end with words of desperation, words of hope or words of doubt? I didn’t know for the longest time that my prayers and my actions were proclaiming “Jesus, I truly am lost.” I was lost even when I thought I had been found. I was lost in myself and I couldn’t see anyone in me. The Lord was in me and He tried to get my attention a few times but I was buried in my ego and I cared about myself more than I did about the Lord. “Jesus, I am truly ok on my own” was another unconscious declaration I made. Jesus should be the center of our lives which means we should be on the periphery looking in. We shouldn’t be on the center looking out and seeing Jesus as an option among other options. He is our best option. He should be our only option. We ought to remain in Him and let Him remain in us. Once we do, we will always declare that He is all we need and we will understand that total reliance on Him is crucial. We will echo what the sign on the church said and our trust in Him will be unshaken.

Staying full of the Lord and full of His Word is a powerful way to keep trusting Him and to have strong faith in Him. When the Word of God is a big part of our lives and we study it and meditate on it, our faith skyrockets. We have to be diligent and keep at it and it produces great fruit. What I loved about the sign on the church is that it was out in the open for everyone to see. It was bold and it was strong. I want my declaration of trust in the Lord to be bold and strong. I am letting it stand in the open so that every time the enemy walks by me he can’t help but see my bold declaration. The enemy is like a lion waiting to devour us so he is always around us doing drive by’s and walk by’s and he doesn’t ever get tired. Let’s be strong and never tired to say that we truly trust in the Lord. Let our faith be heard and our hope in the Lord be visible. Our actions can show how much we trust the Lord. Let’s be the children of God who adore Jesus and who depend on Him completely. Let’s brandish a spiritual banner that reads “Jesus, we truly trust You” no matter what is going on in our lives. Let’s stay in the Word and lift up the Lord. May God bless you and protect you and remember that He will always love you!

God made you

God is a creator. God is an artist. Beauty is His final product. Love is the canvas that He uses to make amazing things. You are one of His creations and He used love to create you and He sees you as a beautiful final product. Now, think about how He looks at you. He looks at you with great joy and with great pleasure. He is glad He made you. He is glad you are alive. He was very pleased with you when He was extremely satisfied with His creation. He knows you are the way you were supposed to be. Why doubt and why deny His art? Why think that you should be different and you are not good enough? It is a normal way of thinking because in this world we have standards that are not God’s standards.

We think like the world and we see ourselves through the eyes of the world. We want to be like others. We compare ourselves. We believe that social media is the social norm. God is above all the selfies and all the body images that are so prevalent in this world. He made you in a way that is unique and He wants you to celebrate the person that you are. You have a personality and qualities that are from the Lord. There is a lot of good in you. There is a lot of love you. There is a lot of the world in you that is hiding the good and the love that come from the Lord. Find yourself in Jesus. Find who you are in the Lord. There is a lot of beauty in you that you might not see or that you are not aware of. Today I am here to tell you that God made you and He loves His creation. He loves you. He didn’t make a mistake when He made you. He sees the wonderful person that you are and He wants you to get on the same page. Learn who you are in Christ. Learn about the beautiful creation that is you!

“I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made: Your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”* This verse is part of Psalm 139. David wrote it and he thanked God for making him the way He is. David recognized that he was a masterpiece because of who made Him. He honored God by thanking Him for making Him. Honor God, friend. Thank Him for creating you. Celebrate the Maker for His beautiful art. You are His art. You are His creation. You are His love. He loves you. He adores you. We miss out on so much when we are not in tune with God the creator and we don’t take into consideration that He made us. There are things about ourselves that we won’t like. We can find faults with ourselves easily.

Let’s focus on the Lord in us. That is beautiful. We are the temple of the Holy Spirit and we can’t reject that part of us. We can ignore it but we shouldn’t. You were made fearfully and wonderfully. Your are wonderful. You are a wonderful work of the Lord. Stop criticizing the work of the Lord. Stop putting down what God made. Stop denying the Lord in you. Start thanking God for what He did. Start seeing the beauty. Start seeing God in you. It is what you should see. It is what you need to see. God is in you and you are a blessing and a blessed one. Someone out there is longing to see the Lord in you and if you don’t like yourself, you will not let that light shine. Your beauty, your light is what someone is looking for.

Praise God because you are fearfully and wonderfully made. God took the time to create you. He didn’t make someone that is not worthy of His love. You are a work of art that is loved by God. You deserve His love and you should open yourself to it. His love will carry you. His love will get you through anything. His love will allow you to be all you can be in Him. Pray that you receive revelation about who you are in Christ and embrace the one that God made. You have so much to be grateful for and you have so much to give.

Like I said earlier, you are a blessing. God made you a blessing. You are not a curse and you are not a nuisance. You are a wonderful person that makes other people’s lives better. Don’t sell yourself short. Don’t minimize the power of the person that you are. You are a person of God whose love can heal and help others. I am so glad that the Lord made you and I thank Him for you. Stay encouraged and remember that you are a unique person whose personality and traits are a blessing. May God bless you and protect you and remember that He will always love you!

God is greater

When I overthink and I spend time focusing on the negative, bad things seem so huge. I lose sight of God but fortunately the Holy Spirit brings me back to His reality and He reminds me that greater is the Lord that is in me. Greater is the Lord that is in me than the devil that is in this world.*That is what the Bible says. That is what the Lord Himself declares. Next time your mind blows the devil out of proportion, take control of your mind but reminding yourself that greater is the Lord in you. Take an inventory of everything that is bad in your life and push God’s truth against that list. Say “Greater is the Lord that is in me than the bills that are piling up in front fo me.” You can also say “Greater is the Lord that is in me than the anxiety that is fighting against me.” Anything that is bad and evil is not greater than Jesus. Jesus died on the cross and conquered death. The enemy, the devil is under the umbrella of death. He was defeated. Jesus in you is greater! You have nothing to worry about. The enemy might be blowing fear into your heart but the One who is sitting in your heart is more powerful. Give the Lord a chance to dominate your heart, your feelings and your emotions. You can do that by proclaiming that He is bigger and greater that anything that is against you.

So many strongholds are formed in our minds when we keep rehearsing bad scenarios and when we dwell on our problems. Nothing can get resolved when we visit our problems over and over again. They can appear bigger and they can foster other problems that did not exist in the first place. When we are aware of how powerful the Lord and we get ahold of that truth, we are on the right path. Now the goal is to use that truth and not let it sit in us. It has to be expressed and it has to be sustained. Greater is the Lord that is in us but the enemy is relentless and he knows that if he can weaken our minds and glorify himself in our heads, he has won the battle. He has not won. Jesus won. As bad as things may seem, they can be reversed and they can be changed by our Lord almighty. There is a lot of peace in the Lord and His peace can transform all situations. When things are not going well and my head feels like it’s going to explode, I call on the peace of the Lord. I understand the importance of calming the storm within so I can better deal with the problems that I am facing. Problems have a way of paralyzing our thinking and our bodies but when God’s peace enters the scene, hope is set in motion again. God’s peace is greater than the confusion and the chaos of the enemy. Ask for peace. You will get stronger and your faith in God being greater will increase.

Are we willing to believe God or are we going to buy into the enemy’s lies? His lies like I implied earlier, magnify him and they can be intimidating. God is the One who intimidates the devil. The devil doesn’t want you and me to discover that truth. Remember that Jesus destroyed the plans of the enemy on the cross. It is a done deal and whoever believes it will reap the benefits. There is a harvest of blessings that come from trusting that greater is the Lord in you than the enemy that is in the world. Go for the biggest harvest you can get. Go for healing. Go for debt cancellation. Go for peace. Go for joy. Go for blind faith. Go for the impossible. Greater is the Lord that is in you and the enemy can’t stop you because you are filled with the love that changes the world. Friday night might be here now and you can’t see how you will make it to Sunday but you have the One who bridges the gap between life and death so your Sunday is coming. Rejoice. Jesus is greater than any problems you might face. Stay encouraged and keep standing in faith. May God bless you and protect you and remember that He will always love you!

God brought you this far

God brought you this far. He is not going to let you down. He is not going to drop you. He is not going to leave you stranded. He will finish the good work He started in you. He will finish the good work in your life. Don’t give up! God is still working with you. God is still working on your situation. Keep the faith! There are some great things coming your way because God is making a way where you thought there was no way. It sounds cliche but it also sounds like Jesus. That is what He will always say. He will always say that He is way, the truth and the life. When you have Him, you always find your way out of trouble. You always have hope of better days. Those better days are not too far. Hold on a little longer. Show your faith longer. I understand that obstacles and hurdles seem to be all over the place and you can’t see good things in your future. Just because you can’t see them doesn’t mean that they are not ahead of you. Jesus has gone before you and He has laid out everything you need and He will provide for you. Don’t look at what you don’t have. In Him you have all you need. There are blessings today that might be invisible to you but with faith they can be revealed. God is by your side and He is going to take you places you had never thought existed. He brought you this far and He will guide you to a destination that is so peaceful and so good that it will blow your mind and surpass your understanding. God is not done blessing you. He is not done carrying you!

When I look back and see how far I have come I can’t help but thank the Lord. He is the One who has made so many things possible in my life. I have a better awareness of His work in my life and of His plan. Good things in my life have not been coincidences or luck. It’s been Jesus all along and He is here to stay. I know that when things get complicated and difficult, we are under the impression that God is done. We feel like He has left and He has moved on to other people. That is not how God is. In His Word He promised that He would never leave us nor forsake us. He also said that He was the same yesterday, today and forever. Your future is still in His hands. Your present is blessed by His presence. God doesn’t give up. God doesn’t turn around when He sees difficulties on the way. He destroys what tries to destroy us. God has the ability to do the incredible and to do the less expected. Faith connects us to Him and it gives us the hope and confidence that God is sovereign all the time. Express your faith today. Tell yourself that God is still God and that He has brought you this far and He will get you to the finish line. There is nothing to fear and nothing to be worried about. Worry won’t move you forward. It will always stall you and hurt you.

I have no idea what you are going through today. I am telling you to keep the faith and you might think that it is a tall order. You feel like you have given your best to this thing called faith and you have run out of it. Look to Jesus. He is the author of your faith. Faith is in His power, His truth, His love, His abilities, His sovereignty, and His omnipotence. You are not trying to have faith in your ability to make things happen. Your faith is exalting the One who died for the world and who came back to life. Revive your vision of Jesus. Go back to His Word. Read about Him. Read Him. Revisit Him. Relearn Him. He is the deliverer, the ruler of the universe and the King of kings. He wants you to stay in fellowship with Him and trust that your journey is not over. He is with you on the journey and He created this journey for you. Think about that! He made this plan just for you and He will see it through. You have made it this far thanks to Jesus and He is going to help you finish this amazing adventure. Keep your hopes up. May God bless you and protect you and remember that He will always love you!

Count on God

I wrote a nugget of wisdom the other day about how great God is and how He can handle anything. Our biggest problems are not a burden to God. He is not afraid of anything that comes our way. He is never shocked and He is never intimidated by anything. It baffles my mind to think that the worst news I have ever received was not something that puzzled God. Bad news always takes me by surprise and it is hard to shake. God knew it was coming and He has never lost His cool. He has never said that He couldn’t face my circumstances and He had to take a leave of absence. The way God is in the Bible is always the same. He never changes. He is as almighty as He ever was. He is as powerful as He ever was. God will always be God no matter what is going on in our lives. What does that mean for our lives? It means that when things are bad, God can still make things right. It means that God can change the worst situations and those situations can never change Him. They might twist God’s reality in our heads and make us think that God is not in control anymore. That is a lie. The enemy wants us to believe that God is nowhere to be found when the going gets tough. Today I want to encourage you to count on God even in the middle of your worst nightmare. Count on God on the good days and on the bad days. He will never let you down.

Counting on God implies faith and it implies that we are not going to bend and we are not going to break under pressure. We are human so things can get to us but when we put faith between us and what is happening to us, we come out victorious. When we put Jesus between our trials and ourselves, we come out victorious. When we let the Bible be the authority in our lives even when problems are piling up, we come out victorious. When we stand our ground on the promises of the Lord even when the storms are raging, we come out victorious. We can count on God all the time. My suggestion is that you get used to counting on God for the small things. Count on Him in your everyday life. Count on Him to bless you and protect you. He said He would follow you and cover you. Count on Him for that. He said that He would listen and answer when you knock. Count on Him for that. He said that no weapon formed against you shall prosper so count on Him for that. He gave His life for you so you could have eternal life so count on Him and know that you have eternal life in Him. Count on Him all the time. Call on Him. Let His name never depart your lips even when you are under attack. He will always fight your enemies for you.

When you find yourself at the bottom of a pit and you can’t see your way out, you can still count on God. It is amazing how dependable the Lord is. He will move Heaven and earth to get you out of that pit. All He needs is your faith and you reliance on Him. He will create a miracle to get you out of the pit. He will invent what doesn’t exist just so you can get out of the pit. He will soften the blows of the enemy and make you life better.
