Embrace God’s love

God loves you. God adores you. God cares about you. God watches over you. God wants you to know Him. God wants you to know His love. God wants you to get closer to Him. God wants you. God wants you to be the person He has called you to be. That person is someone who knows God. Someone who adores God and someone who has an intimate relationship with Him. God loves you so much that He has plans for you that are way better than any plans you could have for your life. God loves you so much that He gave Jesus for you so there would be a bridge between Him and you. He desires for you to know the bridge and to take that bridge every day. Walk on the promise of a better life. Walk on the path that takes you to the kingdom every day. Walk in the power of the kingdom of God. Learn who you are in the kingdom of God. Learn that you belong in the kingdom and you are blessed. Learn that all this is for now and not for later. Jesus is your Savior today. He won’t be your Savior just in Heaven. He is your God and He can make Heaven collide with earth every day of your life. You can have daily encounters with the kingdom in this life. That is what happens when you are aware of your relationship with the Lord. The impossible is always possible. Blessings run after you. You walk with the Lord side by side. Joy, love, peace, faith, patience and strength are part of your daily bread. You eat them every day and they give your spiritual spine the power to stand in the truth of the Gospel of Jesus. Jesus is with you today and you are meant to grow in the knowledge of His love every single day. I want to encourage you today to push forward and learn that God loves you and your life in Him is so much better than the life you imagined for yourself. Embrace God’s love and your life will never be the same.

It’s hard to open up to love when you are not used to being loved. Love speaks. Love acts. Love manifests itself. Love protects. Love heals. Love sets you free. Love gives you wings. Love helps. Love covers you. Love protects you. Love encourages you. Love transforms you. Love empowers you. Love sees you through. Love blesses you. Love shields you. Love listens to you. Love talks to you. Love smiles at you. Love nourishes you. Love makes everything possible. Love doesn’t give up and it doesn’t give up on you. Love has faith. Love fuels the power of faith. Love stays. Love remains. Love doesn’t change. Love doesn’t leave. Love doesn’t judge. Love doesn’t discriminate. Love doesn’t laugh at you. Love doesn’t abandon you. Love doesn’t hold back. Love doesn’t hide. Love doesn’t lie. Love just loves you. No questions asked. Love touches you and it modifies you as it grows you. Love will never leave you the way it found you. God’s love does all the things I have just mentioned. His love is powerful. It is the most powerful force in the universe and it is directed to you. God’s love is for you. It is not for the chosen few. It is not selective and restrictive. God’s love is part of your heritage. Just because you are human you deserve God’s love. You don’t need a special ticket to be admitted into the arena of God’s love. You have always been in His arena. You need to take the next step and embrace this love that will change your life for the better.

You might be well acquainted with God’s love but remember that God is always extending His arm of love to you and His arm is very long. You can’t know how big His love is, so there will always be room to learn more and to embrace more. Don’t let the lies of the enemy stop you from welcoming more of God’s love. God forgives you. God knows you. God understands you. Let Him show you how much He values you and adores you. Reach out and grab His love. Declare every day that you are loved. When I was driving yesterday, I kept repeating “Thank You Lord that You love me. Thank You Lord that You adore me.” The power of those words make the whole experience so real to me. I encourage myself by using words that the Lord uses in His Word. I remind myself that He died for me. He died for my sins. That is huge!. There is no greater love and that love is for me. It is for you as well. Embrace His love by making those strong declarations about His love that is so unique and so true. You will never be able to find God’s love among people. His love can manifest through people but His perfect and holy love is only found in Him. You might have never known the special love that comes from parents. There might be a void in your life. However, God’s love can fill that void and give you a lot more. If you have never known love until now, there is hope. God’s love is for you today no matter what you have been through. His love heals so it will heal your heart, your mind and your soul. Accept His love. You might need to tell Him when you pray that you accept His love. It is a great thing to say. May God bless you and protect you and remember that He will always love you!

Keep the fire of God burning

I went outside yesterday morning and it was very cold. My whole body was cold even though I was wearing layers. My spirit was on fire for the Lord because He had put a great message of encouragement in my heart but my body was shaking from the cold. I praised the Lord that there was heat inside of me despite the cold. I do have to say that I have had times when my spirit was cold. I have tried to put on layers that would keep my spirit on fire for the Lord but the layers didn’t help. What do you do when your spirit is so cold that you can’t get excited about the Lord? Those moments of “cold Christianity” are real. During those moments we are not even lukewarm, we are plainly cold in our Christian walk and nothing seems to get us going. I remember the most recent episode of coldness. The main problem was that it attacked my faith by making me doubt. The cold spell came with cold words toward the Lord. Negative words came flowing into my mind. Each one of them is trying to separate me from the Lord. When we are cold, we need layers and we need heat. Where does the best spiritual heat come from? It comes from the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is described as fire in the Word of God. John said that Jesus would baptize us with the Holy Spirit and fire. On the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit came down and rested upon the believers as fire. God is called a consuming fire. There is an undoubtedly powerful fire associated with the Lord and that is what we need when we have gone cold spiritually. We need the consuming fire of the Lord. His fire will burn all the negativity, all the doubts and all the worries. If you are going through a cold season today, turn on the heat. Turn on the heat of the Holy Spirit and get a spiritual revival going. Knock on the door and the Lord will take you into His warm abode where His fire is always burning and where love, peace, joy and hope abound. God promised that His Spirit who dwells in us will give life to our mortal bodies. Those dry bones are not going to be dry for long. Call upon the Holy Spirit. Ask Him to warm you up. Ask for a fresh fire from Heaven. When we ask in faith, He always gives.

I talk to the Holy Spirit. I talk to the Spirit of the Lord. He is very communicative and talkative. He also points at Jesus. He stays anchored in His truth and He always has good news. The good news of the gospel of Jesus. His good news is that Jesus is alive and He came to set us free. Being cold and unexcited about God is a state we need deliverance from.  When I pray for deliverance, I expect results. I expect freedom. Ask the Lord to set you free and to warm you up. Now, since you are asking in faith, you need to act by faith and not by sight. Don’t worry if you don’t feel the fire right away. Get the fire going by praising the Lord. That is one of the best ways to get a spiritual revival going. The Lord inhabits our praises and when He comes to the scene, He comes with fire. Praise and worship every day even if your body feels cold. Your singing and your honoring God with your life will bring the fire back. Don’t give up! When you lift up the Lord with all your might, when you do your best, He does the rest. You can’t praise the Lord from your heart and not see fire come to you. God is faithful and He will help you and bless you. Get into the fire so to speak. Keep your head up. Keep your hopes up. Keep praising the Lord and you will keep the fire burning.

God will set you free

The truth will set you free. Jesus is the truth, the way and the life so Jesus will set you free. You can’t connect with the Lord and have a relationship with Him without being set free. You might not be free from everything that is keeping you captive right away but as you walk with Him and develop trust and faith in Him, deliverance will ensue. Jesus saves. Jesus sets free. It is true today like it was yesterday. The Lord who walked the earth healing people He met is still healing and delivering people. He said in His Word that He couldn’t perform miracles in places where people didn’t believe. I am convinced that our lack of faith in God’s ability to do the impossible hinders His miracles in our lives. We are not taught enough about His miracle working power. It is talked about here and there but we have swept it under the carpet instead of presenting it as part of who God is. God is love first and foremost and because He is love and He is God, He wants to bless us and to do amazing things for us. His hand is stretched out but our hand is not ready to reach for His. We need the truth. We need His truth so we can be set free. Jesus loves setting His people free from all sorts of bondages and yokes. He came to set the captives free and to proclaim the good news of the gospel. He didn’t come to cuddle us in a state of despair and misery. He wants us out of that state. He came to heal the wounds, cure the sick and remove pain and sorrow.

I realized a while ago that I wasn’t letting Jesus come into all the compartments of my life. I was content with second best and I was ok feeling down and miserable at times. I thought it was part of being pious and being holy. I was highly mistaken. I wasn’t free. I was captive to wrong thinking and to a suffering that should not have been in my life. Why was I in such agony even though I was saved? I didn’t know the Jesus who sets people free. I knew of Him but I didn’t know Him. I saw Him as a legend that had lived a long time ago and I couldn’t reconcile His majesty and power with the Jesus I loved. I had a misconstrued idea of Jesus. My Jesus was good but He wasn’t the real Lord. He was an imposter. He was the product of a Christian culture that was not founded on the pure Word of God. It was based on a watered down version of the Gospel. The Gospel proclaims that Jesus sets us free and that He is the same yesterday, today and forever. When I got a hold of that truth, I was set free. I found freedom. I found peace. I found Jesus!

God will set you free. Friend, God will give you freedom if you give Him your time and attention. Open up your heart to Him. Believe in His love and believe in His power. He is not a weak and feeble Lord. He is not man’s creation. He is the creator and as the creator He can create anything including miracles and deliverance. If you are in an emotional or mental prison, if your problems are keeping you captive, go to Jesus who sets any captives free. Invite Him into your life. Keep Him there. Hold on to His truth. Let Him set you free. Pray to Him. Get closer to Him. Work on having more faith in His wonder working power. He can do all things. You are not going to stay in that jail. God will set you free. Your current situation is not the end of the story. There is more to come and it is coming from the Lord. He is going to give you the freedom that you didn’t think existed. Stay with Him. Stick with Him. Freedom is on the agenda of your life and Jesus wrote it in using the indelible Word of God. It is written that who the Son sets free is free indeed. The Son of God is going to set you free. Stay encouraged!

Your life will never be the same

God thinks you are amazing. He sees you as a wonderful and precious person. He adores you. He loves you and He would do anything for you. As a matter of fact He did. He sent His only Son Jesus to die on the cross so that you would be saved and have eternal life. That eternal life that was bought for you is fully operational today. Your salvation is on. The cross and the resurrection flipped the switch of salvation and nothing can turn it off now. Since you have accepted the Lord as your Savior, things have been up and down. Some days are good and some are bad. Your salvation doesn’t guarantee that you will never have trials but it guarantees that you have Jesus. Let Him be the source of your salvation. You are not saved because of your good deeds but you are saved because of Him. He is the orchestrator of your salvation and thanks to Him everything is in motion.

In this awesome life, the bad doesn’t derail you. This means that even when you are having a bad day, you are still having a better day than when you didn’t have the Lord. He has an array of blessings that are at your disposal. If you step into His sphere of love and care and embrace His salvation, your life will never be the same again. Jesus has a life for you that is full of His glory and His mercy. Adopt the life of salvation. Live it out. Live in His salvation. Be actively saved so to speak. How do you do that? By surrendering to His will, by giving up on yourself and taking on His salvation and by trusting Him with blind faith. Walk the walk and talk the talk. Let His salvation be the decor in the temple of your life. Let your spirit be inhabited by His salvation. Salvation is for today and it is best understood by the heart. When they say “Give your heart” to the Lord, they mean  that your heart should be filled with Him. Trust me, when Jesus is truly your number one, your life is not the same. Step into the Lord’s salvation, close the door behind you and stay there. Your life will never be the same.

I love how Jesus sent us His Spirit so we could have a captain that helps us navigate through this new life. We too often omit to include the Holy Spirit in what we do. We unconsciously sabotage our salvation because a life lived without the Spirit of God is a life that is not reaching the potential of His salvation. The Holy Spirit should be at the center of our lives. We invited Him into our lives. He came into our temples. If we ignore Him every day, He won’t feel welcome. The Holy Spirit is a Person and He should be invited every day. Better yet, He should be expected to stay. I believe that once He is invited into our house, we ought to turn the keys over to Him. He has the right to become the head of our home and to rule our space. He is the best counselor, the best coach and the best guide. As the head of our home, He can transform us from the inside out and usher us into a life where Jesus is celebrated and where the fruit of the Spirit is always growing.

That transformation is out of this world. That is the kind of life we are expected to have. Salvation is that life. A life where King Jesus is king, not just in words but in truth and in spirit. There has to be a heart connection, a love connection, a spirit connection. The Holy Spirit can show us how to live out our salvation so surrendering to Him is very important. What does that look like? It looks like the best life ever. A life where Jesus is on a pedestal is as good as it gets. Glorify Him. Magnify Him. Exalt Him. He will influence your life in a powerful way. You will experience the beauty and the majesty of the King on a new level.

Your life will never be the same. The Holy Spirit gives us assurance and confidence. He helps us develop boldness in the Lord and He gives us the ability to walk in power in the life of salvation. Give Him your undivided attention and He will open your spiritual eyes to lessons that will teach you how to live according to Jesus. You will be taught how to love more and how to be more like Jesus. Love is a huge part of salvation. It is the essence of salvation and when you partner with the Holy Spirit, His love is poured into your heart and you can’t help but love. You will start looking at people in a pure and holy way.

Get excited. You will understand that the Lord loves absolutely everyone and He doesn’t discriminate. You look in the eyes of the people you can’t stand and you will hear how much Jesus loves them. Your life will never be the same. The Spirit of God will give you the power to face any trial and tribulation. You will be equipped to deal with the unpredictable snares of the enemy. The Holy Spirit will change your attitude and your perspective. You will think that the world has changed when in reality the new life in new is giving you new eyes and new strength. My prayer is that you get to live out your salvation and that the Holy Spirit is comfortably sitting in your temple and that your spirit is dripping with His fruit daily. Let Jesus be the center and your life will never be the same!

God is good over and over again

The Lord amazes me over and over again. I say over and over again because His blessings don’t stop and His goodness is never-ending. I can’t count how many times He has given me those wow moments when I have been blown away. I can’t think back to my life before He was my life. It seems so far and so foreign to me. How did I make it without Him? I don’t know but I know His grace was there and it kept me safe even when I didn’t know the Lord. I have learned to expect His goodness to always triumph and to get the final say at the end of the day. He will always be rolling in the blessings even when the enemy piles up the trials and the suffering. God’s goodness has no end. God is good over and over and over again. That is who He is. He is a good God whose goodness is always present. If you are having a hard time today, know that God is still good and His goodness will show up and show you that He is still in love with you and your trials don’t change who He is. Expect love over and over again. Expect healing over and over again. Expect joy over and over again. Expect peace over and over again. Expect Jesus over and over again. Expect a breakthrough over and over again!

It’s easy to realize that problems are something we can expect over and over again. From experience we know that they are bound to happen and they are part of life. Now, when you are aware of God’s goodness being a permanent part of your life, it’s a game changer. When you have faith in the Lord and you have an understanding that His goodness will always be there, you are ready to face anything. Focus on that. Focus on God’s goodness. Study it in His Word. Sing about it. Sing how it never changes and how it will always be with you. It will break the negative songs that are playing in your mind. Sing louder than the fear and the stress that are trying to set up shop in your heart. I rejoice just thinking about the goodness of God and how it is always available. When something bad happens to me, I can say “God is good over and over again. This will not change Him but He will change this situation.” Over and over again He will do what He does best and He will surprise me in a great way. I want to reiterate that you might be having some bad experiences today but the Lord is going to impact your bad moments with His goodness and what was meant for evil will turn out to be very good.

Remind yourself that the God of the “over and over goodness” is on your side. You are in camp Jesus. You are part of the winning camp. You are going to make it, over and over again. Don’t worry about the setbacks or the steps back. God will make up for the steps and He will replace the setbacks with a new set of blessings. Your salvation didn’t end with your last blessing. You are still a child of God and you are still highly blessed. There might be snow on the road now and your life is going slowly but soon the goodness of God will remove all the ice and the snow that have been slowing you down and it will be smooth sailing for you. Keep that at the forefront of your thoughts. Don’t slide down the trail of overthinking but think about how God is good and how He is going to get you out of that mess. He is going to do it over and over again. This is not the end. It is not over. God is acting on your behalf and He is doing great things behind the scenes. God’s goodness is going to stop the world’s harshness. God is going to do something great for you. Say that to yourself over and over again. His love will bless you over and over again!

Adoring and worshipping the Lord

Yesterday after work I needed to run errands and go to different places in town but I felt the urge to go home and pray. The urge was bubbling up in my spirit and I felt like I was taking off,  I was soaring and I had to express what I was experiencing. There was a need for a release of whatever was going to come out of my mouth when I was getting home. As soon as I opened the door and stepped into the house, adoration flew out of me. It was a flow of words of worship and words of praise. It felt like a river of joy and admiration for Jesus was running through me. I think my spirit had been holding on to it all day and it wanted to shout out praise and thank Jesus. Thank Him for what? I thanked Him for everything and anything. My mind was telling me that I had no concrete reasons to thank Him but my spirit was in gratitude mode and nothing could stop it. We were created to worship the Lord and our spirit wants to do just that but there are many distractions every day that keep us from giving ourselves to praise. Today I want to encourage you to adore the Lord and let out all the praise and worship that is waiting to come out. You are a born worshipper and the more you worship the Lord, the more you fulfill what you were created to do.

How many times a day do we worship people or things that are not the Lord? How many times a day do we exalt God’s creation over God? I think we do it more than we know. I have to catch myself when I focus too much on things that steal all the worship that should be going to God. I don’t want my phone to be an idol. I don’t want Instagram to influence me and make me believe the perfect life is captured in photos of a fake reality. I don’t want to prioritize the wrong things and the wrong concepts and ideas. Jesus is my ideology. Jesus is my idea of a good life. Jesus is the influencer who can make me drop all the trends that distance me from the Kingdom of God. I can admire the creation but my utmost praise should go to the Creator. The Bible tells us that the love of money is a sin. Making it financially in this world can be an idol. We can have all the riches in the world but if we place them above Jesus, we are poor in spirit and poor in everything.

When I came home yesterday, words came out of my mouth faster than I could think. I was allowing my spirit to work hand in hand with the Holy Spirit and adore Jesus. I didn’t hold back. I gave God the glory with all my heart and all my mind. I blocked out the world and all I could think of was Jesus. The fact that I had to be home alone away from people was symbolic. Nothing was able to stand in the way of my worship and it was a great lesson. Sometimes we need to leave the world to be with the Lord. Sometimes we need to put everything on pause so we can let our hearts play songs of worship and adoration. The glory of the Lord is His manifestation and that is what I experienced in my kitchen. Praise mode was so strong that I got on my knees and lifted my arms to the Heavens. God was getting all the glory and my body, my mind, my soul and my spirit were celebrating Him. All I wanted to do was stay in that state of reverence. Nothing else mattered. My praise was all I wanted to give to Jesus. Friend, when we lean into our urge to pray and praise, we give our spirit a chance to glorify the Lord. Let’s give in to those urges of praise even when we don’t feel like it. Our flesh doesn’t want it but our spirit always does. We can win the battle of the flesh and the spirit by getting into adoration mode every single day. Praise the Lord almighty! Get on your knees and reverence Him. Lift up your hands to the Heavens and sing a song of worship. Banish idols from your life and give life to gratitude and to the worship of the Lord.

Let your words be from God

When you don’t know what to say, say what God has to say about you. Speak the Bible language that is meant to bless your life, to encourage you and to stimulate you. Learn that language and ditch the lingo of doubt and fear. So much negativity resides in what we say. We are so used to saying certain phrases and expressions that it doesn’t bother us when we speak words of discouragement. They are a part of our vocabulary and we can’t get rid of them just like that. Our words are powerhouses. They can be houses of a great positive power or houses of a big negativity that attracts more negativity. I know that working on what I say has helped me tremendously. I don’t want to spread negativity or to distribute despair and fear.

I want to speak up for God and to stand in the comfort of His words so that others can be comforted. My message today is to speak hope, speak love, speak joy, speak faith and speak Jesus every day. We hear enough about hatred, misery, deception, fear, doubt and the enemy. It’s time we took the narrative back and let God express Himself through us. What does the Word of God have to say about our words? The book of Proverbs has a lot to say on the subject.

Proverbs 16:24 “Kind words are like honey–sweet to the soul and healthy for the body.” Kind words are the words that should be coming out of our mouth. Anything that is nice and kind should be what we say. Are God’s words kind? Absolutely! Speaking His words is speaking kindness. His Spirit can inspire us to speak kindness and to bring health to people through our words. Next time you are tempted to say something harsh, remember that those words would cause bitterness and poor health when spoken. They can make people sick and they can make people sad. They can make you sick and they can make you sad.

Proverbs 18:4 “A person’s words can be life-giving water; words of true wisdom are as refreshing as a bubbling brook.” Give life through your words. Quench people’s spiritual thirst by serving them the life-giving water that lies in your words. God gives us wisdom. You can easily share that wisdom through your words. Plan to do that every day.

Proverbs 18:20 “Words satisfy the soul as food satisfies the stomach; the right words on a person’s lips bring satisfaction.” What are the right words? You can easily get to the right words when you let the Lord be your source of inspiration. Spend time in the Word of God and you will have the right words to say at the right time and at the right person.

Proverbs 15:4 “Gentle words bring life and health; a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit.” I want my words to be as gentle as possible. It takes a lot of practice and it takes time but when I think of the impact of my words and the potential of creating so much good through them, I know the effort is worth it.

Proverbs 11:17 “Your own soul is nourished when you are kind, but you destroy yourself when you are cruel.” Speaking God’s words nourishes our souls. His words give life and they stabilize us. They help with our emotions and our feelings. They keep us focused on what is good and pure.

Be good to your soul and speak God’s words. Be good to your spirit and speak God’s words. Be good to your heart and speak God’s words. Be good to others and speak God’s words to them. Let your words be from God all the time.

With God nothing is ever too late

I was drawn to John chapter 11 the other day. It has to do with Lazarus being resurrected from the dead. It is such a powerful testimony to the Lord’s love and to His power. Jesus loved Lazarus and He was filled with compassion when He saw that He had died. He was so moved that He cried. Jesus wept. It is almost inconceivable that the Son of God could cry and yet He did. He felt bad and He felt sad. Mary, Lazarus’ sister had a strong and normal reaction when she saw Jesus. She fell at His feet but then she said “If only you had been here, my brother would not have died.” Isn’t it how we often react? Don’t we believe that God arrived too late and that if He had come before, things would have been fine? “If only God had stepped in earlier”, we say. “If only God had acted before,” we cry out. The truth that shakes us is that God is never too late and never too early. What seemed like a hopeless situation to Mary, was not a dead situation for the Lord. Lazarus had been dead for 4 days. Did that stop Jesus? Certainly not. The One who was going to conquer death knew that He could bring Lazarus back to life. Now, think of Lazarus as a situation in your life that appears to be impossible to fix. Think of something that happened 4 days ago so to speak and that looks completely hopeless today. A situation void of joy and peace. A situation that is in critical condition. Present that situation to the Lord. Change your thinking and don’t proclaim that God is too late. Renew your mind by untangling your thoughts with the comb of hope and faith. What is presented by the world as being too late is not too late for God. Put it in His hands and He will make things happen. When you trust Him, He can speak into your lifeless circumstances and bring them back to life.

I can think of a dozen situations in my life when hope was gone and I had reached the point of no return. In those tough situations there was no way out and no exit. I looked for the staircase that would take me outside of those buildings of problems but I could never find them. It’s in those moments of desperation that God showed up and proved to be caring more than I could imagine. His grace and His mercy have been umerited but they always take control of the situations. Looking back I can see that at times no one came to my rescue right away but with time, with God’s timing, the rescue was always there. It was late in my mind but it was right on time for God. We sometimes go through long seasons, long, long winters but then we jump from cold weather to summer. God does that. He can turn our toughest seasons into the most beautiful summer time. This is why I want to encourage you to hang in there and hold on to Jesus. Go to His feet and praise Him. Go to His feet and wait. Wait on His perfect timing. Wait for His intervention and cherish Him in the meantime. Don’t let your bad season give you a bitter taste. You will taste the honey and the milk again. The promise of your best days has not expired. It is renewed every day. Every morning the Lord sings over you and He is faithful. His angels are with you and you are still blessed and favored. Bad seasons don’t mean you have a bad life. The accumulation of the misery and the pain in your life can leave you hopeless but God is going to change that. He is going to pour blessings after blessings and wipe away those tears. It is never too late with the Lord!

If you think that it is too late and that your struggle will not end, let me tell you that God has a timetable that is going to reverse every bad thing that you have experienced. Get on His timetable. Get on the timetable of hope. Don’t lose hope. Don’t get discouraged. The Lord sees you. The Lord wept when He saw your suffering as He was hanging on the cross. He also rose again and saw the end of your pain. It is coming. It is not too late for it to happen. Take courage. Something amazing is coming your way and Jesus Christ is sponsoring that beautiful event. Know that Jesus adores you. He has felt your tears and He has visited your fears. He knows how you are feeling. He knows what you are going through and He definitely knows that this is not the end. With God nothing is ever too late. Keep your hopes high. Remember you are dealing with the Creator of the universe. Nothing is impossible to Him. Ever!

The power of love in the middle of a crisis

I was recently talking to a young man who has had a lot of trauma in his life. He has been to very dark places and he has lost his way many times. He fortunately has made a full recovery and thanks to his support system he can lead a better life. He mentioned that in the middle of his crisis, love emerged as his saving grace. It is love that made it possible for him to continue to live and to have hope. Love planted itself in the middle of the darkness he was going through. Like a rose with no thorns, love grew among the weeds and gave him a new life. Love was the color that the darkness couldn’t control. Love was the rose that the bad plants couldn’t hide and the strength that his heart needed. It is the people who showed him love that kept him afloat and that got him to shore. He had been drowning with no faith in the possibility of seeing dry land again. Love didn’t give up on him. Love said “Back off devil” and took control of the situation. Love had pity on him. Love had a different plan for him. I loved how at such a young age he was able to see the power of love and understand it. His story made me think of how love saved my life. Love came and saw the mess that I was in and decided to delete the plans of the enemy and give me a fresh start. Love took me by the hand. Love took me out of my misery. It is the love of the Lord that made things possible. His love changed my life. His love ruined the plans of the enemy. His love gave meaning to my life. His love transformed me. Before then, my life was a constant crisis but love made its way through the panic and came to my rescue. God’s love can get into the middle of any crisis, sound the alarm and get help from Heaven. Today I want to remind you that God’s love is going to make a way. It is going to break the things that are breaking you, destroy what’s destroying you and remove what’s been erasing you. The power of love is going to change your situation for the better.

I always want to believe in the power of love but when I see how much hatred and evil is in the world, I second guess love. There is no doubt that love is more powerful than anything but if we focus on the bad, it will appear to be overwhelming and it will always magnify all the problems in our lives. I understand that things can get pretty bad sometimes. It is a given and it is inevitable but God’s love has something to say about all our situations. It says that God can reverse anything. Love declares and proclaims that the One who died and came back to life holds the keys to an unconditional love that can change all conditions. Love can do the impossible. It can rise from the dead and bring life where there is no hope. I learned that having hope in God’s love is having hope in the biggest and strongest power in the universe. Love can achieve more than we think when we give it a chance. Love will rise up and put down the fiery darts of the enemy. Love can give birth to beautiful moments that will turn into gorgeous memories. Love can multiple and go from one person to the next. I am calling for a multiplication of love in this world. It’s time we passed the love of the Lord around. It is time we became laborers of love whose goal is to make “Jesus famous” by spreading His love.

I want to plant love in the darkest gardens. I want to go around and sow seeds of love in arid soils that need the fertilizing power of love. All it really takes is to let my heart be invaded by God’s love. When we give our hearts to the Lord, love is all we want to distribute. It is the reason for everything and it believes in the impossible. Love is gentle and it is firm at the same time. It is gentle like the Holy Spirit and it is firm like the lion of Judah. It protects and it shields. It encourages and it motivates. It brings light to the darkest times. Today if you are in the middle of a crisis, plant love in the center of your emergency. God is love. He is the One you should be putting in the middle of your situation. How? Pray to Him. Involve Him. Acknowledge Him in all your ways. Thank Him for His love that always makes a way. In the middle of your darkness there is a powerful light and it is the love of God. Your crisis will shrivel under the power of love. Trust God. His love is going to change the tune of your sad song. Stay encouraged!

Rejoice in the Lord

There are many reasons to be down and depressed these days. It has been quite a year and the weight of the accumulated negativity is still present even though there are some little signs of relief. The truth is that some people go through periods of heaviness for a long time or during their entire lives. I know people who could list 30 reasons why they can’t smile and why they are constantly troubled and worried. Worry and fear can be part of your existence to the point where you can’t understand how being happy is even possible. You can look at joyful people and see them as people from another planet. People who don’t know what true difficult living looks like. I was one of those people who didn’t comprehend that joy was even an option. The mountains in my life hid the sun. There was no hope and there was no light. I couldn’t see past the mountains. All I could see was the dark skies that were present night and day. Life was a nightmare and I didn’t think I could wake up from it. However, the Lord gave me a reason to smile. He gave me a reason to rejoice. He taught me what true love was about. He taught me how to smile and how to let myself be wrapped in the arms of bliss. He came into my life and removed the darkness that was keeping me captive. His power to free me was something I had never experienced before. To this day I am amazed at how He powerfully saved me and did what I had perceived as the impossible. He taught me how to rejoice in Him and gave me the precious message that His joy is my strength and I am here to pass that message along to you.

Rejoicing in the Lord is so difficult when you see that there is so much sadness in the world. Is it impossible? Is it not allowed? I know that with God anything is possible and I strongly believe that rejoicing in Him is not only allowed but it is also encouraged. You see, the enemy doesn’t want to see anyone rejoice, especially rejoicing in the Lord. He likes it when people rejoice for all the wrong reasons about all the wrong things. He would like to keep everyone away from trusting God, communicating with Him and growing in Him. Bringing sadness and fear is a good way for him to achieve this separation from God. Sadness makes us focus on the negative and it blocks our eyes of faith. Fear just ripped faith from our hearts and keeps us apart from God. Now, rejoicing in the Lord does the opposite. It keeps our focus on the Lord and it draws us closer to Him. It also builds up our faith. Joy in the Lord is a powerful way of living because the more time we spend in His joy, the stronger we are when life throws difficult times our way. The Lord’s joy gives us access to the heart of the Lord. He is a joyful God. His joy is stronger than all the sorrow in the world. Rejoice in the Lord and you will stay in a steady state of peace and hope.

Should you be rejoicing in the Lord today? Absolutely! Are your current circumstances conducive to rejoicing? Most likely they are not but it is still a good time to rejoice in the Lord. When you do, you confuse the enemy. That is not why you should be rejoicing but it is an added benefit. Rejoice in the Lord because He is always good. Your life might be bad but His goodness will supersede the bad in your life. Keep rejoicing in Him or start rejoicing today. Start with a daily rejoicing hour. Set time aside to rejoice in Him. Put your problems aside and just focus on Jesus. It is not going to be easy at first but you will see how powerful and impactful it is. It will get easier and easier. His joy is going to get into your spiritual system and you are going to get addicted to it. Rejoicing in Him is going to give your spirit a jolt and guide you on the path of recovery from sadness. The joy of the Lord will make you realize that you are clothed with the garments of salvation. Rejoice in the Lord today!
