God is predictable

Life is random but God is predictable. God stays true to His Word so you and I can have the assurance that He will always be good and He will always be there for us. Jesus performed a lot of miracles when He walked the earth. That is what people expected of Him. Big crowds would gather expecting to hear Him speak and to see Him heal the sick. People lived for that. People had hope in that. People knew Jesus as the healer and the miracle worker. People loved Him and wanted to get close to Him. People went to meet Jesus and they had a clear idea of what would happen. He was predictable. He is the Son of God who could do the impossible. Where people had faith in Him, Jesus was able to do wonders and to perform outstanding miracles. How do you see Him today? Is He a miracle worker? Is He predictable? Is He true to His Word? Some people would argue and say that you never know what God is going to do. I agree with that truth. He can heal and bless us in ways that are unknown to us but He is predictable because He will always bless us when we stay in Him. We can predict a good outcome. We can predict that there will be blessings and there will be a breakthrough.

You can’t predict how God will do it but you can predict that He will do it and He will do something for you. Develop that mindset. Think of the God who always comes through and who always blesses you. Believe that it is true all the time. No matter what happens to you, the Lord your God will save the day. I remember a time when I had very little money. I was starting my job but I needed money to keep me afloat. I spent a lot of time in prayer and praise. My praise and prayer sessions were the best part of my day. They still are but at the time they were new to me and I was in awe. I discovered that the Lord inhabited my praises and I loved those encounters with Jesus. Like I said, I still enjoy them. I just remember that time as being the start of a new life, a new journey, a new beginning and  a new connection with Jesus. I learned that I could always expect God to come through. His love and His goodness became predictable. He helped me with my financial situation and He did things for me that I didn’t think were possible. He came through and blessed me in many ways, His own ways but I had predicted He would do something great.

I am relearning that it is very important to read the Word of God for many reasons and one of them is because we can get to know the Lord better. We can understand what to expect from God better when we are familiar with His Word. We get a nice picture of our predictable God. The less of the Word we have in us, the more the enemy can get in and spread lies about the Lord and what to expect. We need to hear from the Lord directly about who He is and stop creating scenarios that don’t do Him justice. Every day we can thank the Lord because He is predictable. We can thank Him for loving us, blessing us and being with us all the time. My advice to you is that you grow in the knowledge of God’s love and you get to understand what His predictable nature is all about. One thing that the Lord made clear is that He can do exceedingly more than we can expect and that should be our expectation. We should cherish the truth that God is predictable in that He will always do exceedingly more than we can imagine. Expect God to be God in all circumstances. May God bless you and protect you and remember that He will always love you!

His blessings belong to you

Do you believe that you are blessed? Do you believe that because Jesus is your Savior, blessings are following you wherever you go? If you don’t believe that, know that you are indeed blessed. Know that His blessings are yours. Know that you are highly favored and highly blessed. You might say, “How come I am not seeing His blessings in my life”? You might wonder why it seems that other people are more blessed than you are. It is time you changed your thinking and you started attracting the blessings of the Lord that are rightly yours. A lot of it has to do with how you think and where your faith lies. We have to constantly renew our thinking and one of the most important parts of our thinking should be anchored in the Lord.

Renewing our minds should be a daily practice. We ought to think in line with His Word and know and believe that we are  blessed. Jesus is the Lord of our lives and through Him we have an abundant life. If we walk this Christian walk continually comparing ourselves with others and feeling cheated, we will not have the life the Lord wants for us. His blessings are unique and they are custom made. God has mountains of blessings that are awaiting your faith. He has favor and breakthroughs that will change your life so change your thinking about His blessings and receive great things.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places”* God is Spirit and His blessings are first and foremost spiritual. He desires for all of us to be spiritual and to be connected to Him on a spiritual level. The spiritual goes beyond words. Words help us spiritually. Positive and Bible-inspired words help but we have to have that spiritual connection. The spiritual connection happens when we pray, when we praise, when we are thankful, when we walk in love, in faith and in the whole fruit of the Spirit. Now, the Bible says that we have been blessed in Christ with every spiritual blessing.

Note the tense in this verse. We have been blessed. It doesn’t say that we will be blessed. When Jesus is our Savior, His blessings are here in our lives. Faith pleases God and when we are in faith we receive blessings, we receive from Jesus. Love is an amazing blessing. It is the best and the biggest blessing of them all. Some people would say that money is the best blessing. This is not true in the eyes of the Lord. We ought to focus on spiritual blessings and everything else will be added.

You and I are spiritually blessed with the fruit of the Spirit. We are favored and we are meant to be blessings to others. Loving and helping others is a privilege that we have in Christ. We are blessed so we can bless others. With the fruit of the Spirit comes a multitude of other blessings. Like I said earlier our focus should be on spiritual blessings and God will give us all we need. We can expect to be blessed financially, physically and emotionally. God is the God of blessings and He loves it when our needs are met. What we should do is get strong in our spiritual blessings and gifts and we will expect God’s best in every area of our lives. You and I can have what we want when we believe.

We can have what we want as long as it is in agreement with God’s will. Let’s work on thinking in line with the Word of God that tells us that when we pray we should believe and not doubt and we will have whatever we ask the Lord. His blessings for our lives belong to us. We have a right to them and we should always thank Him for them. Thank Jesus for what you don’t see. Thank Him for great blessings that you don’t necessarily understand but you know belong to you. You are highly blessed and highly favored. Enjoy the Lord’s blessings. May God bless you and protect you and remember that He will always love you!

Anything can still happen

A few years ago I wrote a message called  ‘Anything (good) can happen.” It was about how the Lord can do anything at any time. I talked about the hope we should have in the possibility of a change and a blessing from the Lord. It has been three years or so but today the Lord reminded me that He can still do anything. I make that declaration often but today I was brought back to that old message and I could see its validity and how it is still relevant today. Anything can still happen. How many times do you need to hear that? How many times have we drifted in our faith and started thinking that maybe good things can’t happen anymore? We think that we have reached our quota and God is done with it for now or for good. God has an unlimited supply of goodness and He can give us more than we expect.

If you are waiting for a miracle or a breakthrough, know that anything can happen. That old message will never change. It actually is new every day. Every morning new mercies are available. New blessings and new miracles can happen. New breakthroughs and new good breaks can come your way. You have Jesus as your Savior so you are a magnet for miracles waiting to happen. Not because of who you are but because of the One in you. Because of Him great things can happen to you. Let faith open you up to the great opportunities and the great things that the Lord has for you. Just because you are going through a tornado of bad breaks doesn’t mean that the Lord can’t put the brakes on what is going on. He can make anything bad stop and replace it with something that will make you forget that you went through a bad patch.

God is going to do the impossible. Think about that. Add that truth to your “thinking bank” and bank on it. You can count on Him to do things that are beyond what the world can do. You can count on Him to change situations completely and restore what was taken. You can count on Him to open doors that seemed to be reserved for others. You can count on Him to give you more than what the devil had stolen from you. You can count on Him to do things that only God can do. You will find amazing accounts of what He does in His Word and He promised that if you trust Him, He would do even greater things and you could do even greater things in the name of Jesus.

Anything can still happen to you, friend. Any blessing can still knock at your door. Any miracle can still be in the pipeline of your life. You are going to receive from God. Whatever you need can and will come so stay in faith. Keep your hopes up and look to the Son of God. Nothing is impossible to the one who believes. Be that one who believes and you will experience miracle after miracle. Jesus is your Savior and He adores you. I am excited to see what He is going to do in your life. My prayer is that you stand the course and keep believing. He is going to part the seas of your life. He is going to turn your water into wine. He is going to give you the peace that you need and add joy to it. God has no limitations so don’t limit Him in your head. May God bless you and protect you and remember that He always loves you!

Let’s believe in miracles

I believe in Jesus. I believe in miracles. I believe Jesus still performs miracles. I believe the God of miracles is alive and well and He can do exceedingly more than we imagine. I believe Jesus is the Son of God and He died and rose again and with His resurrection power came a new life that belongs to us believers. I believe that God is supreme and that no one can defeat Him and conquer Him. I believe that Jesus is with us and He is not going anywhere. I believe the Holy Spirit lives in every one of us believers and He loves being in us. I believe He always steers us in the right direction and He knows all things. He knows that Jesus still performs miracles and He knows that we should all believe it and trust Him. Jesus has not changed. The Messiah of the Bible is here to stay and He is the One we should get to know better. I always talk about getting to know the Lord better because I understand how powerful that connection is and how important it is to be close to Him. He changed my life. He revolutionized my life with His everlasting love and I am on a quest to believe more and more and to delve into the truth of the Lord. Today I am inviting you to believe that Jesus can still do miraculous things for you. His miracles will never die. Come join me in believing that the Lord can still do the impossible today.

I have always been fascinated by the miracles Jesus performed. As a kid, I was mesmerized by the accounts of His miracles in the Bible. They sounded so real and so amazing. Every miracle is a suspension of time and a change in the sequence of the events the enemy had planned. Miracles are outside of time it seems and they don’t depend on the world to take place. They depend on Jesus and He can perform them at any time and for anyone. His miracles can strike in your life when you least expect them. They are still around and they can still take you aback. Think about the biggest miracle of all. God gave His only begotten Son to save us. Love won  against evil. Love came back to life in the power of the Spirit of God with the guarantee that it will never go away. That powerful love is with you, friend. It is in you and it follows you everywhere you go. That miracle working love is in your life even when you don’t see it. Believe in God’s love. Believe in God’s intentions for your life. He has plans to bless you and to care for you all the time. His miracles are not leaving you. It’s time we believed in miracles again.

Jesus is not just the Savior of hope and encouragement. He is an expert at those two things and He is the author of faith. However, we need to take this one step further and go from theory to practice and to application. Sometimes we get stuck in the theory realm and we can’t picture how to apply what we believe. We don’t practice what we preach because we have not been told that we can. I have seen that the miracle power of Jesus is not spoken about a lot as a present day ministry and yet He is present and He is ministering to those who trust Him. God wants us to have a life filled with the love of His Son and with miracles wherever we go. We ought to apply what we believe and expect more, expect miracles and expect Jesus, the King who is alive. There is so much we can celebrate in this life with Jesus and we have to keep celebrating even when the going gets tough.

When Paul and Silas were in jail, they praised the Lord. They knew that their Jesus was worthy to be lifted up and they did that even though they were in jail. The Lord performed a great miracle and set them free. Jesus can do that for you today as well. He is able and He is willing to set you free and to do something amazing for you and for me. Let’s believe. Let’s find the reasons to believe in the Bible. Let’s be doers of the Word who have complete trust in the Lord and who know beyond a doubt that Jesus is who He says He is. Let’s believe that the walls of our mental, spiritual and physical jails will come down. Let’s praise and pray. Let’s believe in all circumstances. A miracle is around the corner, friend and the Lord will make sure it gets to you. May God bless you and protect you and remember that He will always love you!

Nothing is impossible with God

Nothing is impossible with God. How many times have you heard that statement? It should be seen as more than a statement. It is a declaration. It is a shout of hope because no matter what is going on, God can do the impossible. No matter where you are, God can take you to the realm of the impossible made possible. No matter who is against you, God is with you and He can make anything impossible. No matter how you are feeling or no matter what is happening in your head, God is still the God of the impossible. He is a miraculous God. He is a powerful God. He is the God of the Bible and that will never change. He is the One who can do what no one else can. God is the God is the new chance, the new beginning and the new hope. He gives up hope all the time. He gives us a fresh start all the time. He gives us a reason to believe and to stand against all odds. God is not like men. God doesn’t think like men. God doesn’t act like men. God doesn’t have limitations, narrow-mindedness and restrictions. If we could get on His level of thinking, we would be way up above the earth. His thoughts are not our thoughts but we can share the mind of Christ and think in line with His character and with His truth.

A character is the mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual. What is God’s character like? It would be too complicated to define it but what we know is that He is love and His love motivates Him to do the impossible for us. Combine His character and His ability to do anything and you have  enough to base your faith on. Love wins. Love prevails. Love matters. God wins. God prevails. God matters. Today if you are dealing with a tough situation or if you are discouraged, remember God is love and God can do anything. Meditate on what He is like. Spend time rehashing His goodness and His power to do the impossible. He loves you and He would do anything for you that is in agreement with His will. His will is to bless you and to prosper you. He wants you to have a great life with Him so that is what you should expect. Trust in His character and trust His power. I don’t know what you are going through right now but I know that God can help you, bless you, mend you, restore you and prosper you. You are going to make it and you are going to be highly blessed. Nothing is impossible with God so give your faith a boost by adoring the beautiful character of the Lord.

Some people say that they would do anything for other people but they are limited in what they can do. They have great intentions but sometimes it takes more than intentions to get the job done. God has great intentions for you and for me and He has the power to execute what He wants to do for us. It takes a little bit of faith and patience and we can experience major breakthroughs and amazing endings. When Jesus said that nothing was impossible with God, He meant that nothing will ever be impossible with God. What He said is not just for the time when He was walking on the earth. It will always be true and relevant. His love is relevant. His power is relevant. His truth is relevant. His Word is relevant. Apply them all to your life and you will see that God can do all things. Take your situation and put it face to face with the God of the impossible. When you pray, always thank God for His love and always declare you know that nothing is impossible with Him. It will be a great encouragement to you and it will give you an amazing perspective. Don’t get discouraged. Nothing is too big for you God. Stay strong and stay encouraged. May God bless you and protect you and remember that He will always love you!

The heavenly combo

There is a combination that the devil dreads and dislikes. It is the combination of having Jesus as our Savior, having faith in Him and being doers of the Word of God. It is a heavenly combo that sounds deadly to the enemy. When we are partakers in that powerful combination, nothing can stop us. We don’t have to have the faith of an apostle. All we need is a mustard seed of faith. A tiny bit of faith goes a long way but it is something that many people are not aware of. Knowing Jesus as our Savior, having a little bit of faith and applying what the Bible says will always save the day. It will not only save the day but it will always pave the way for better days. You see, the great combo I am talking about brings about amazing things into our lives. It brings victory over oppression. It brings blessings day in and day out and it causes a beautiful relationship to develop with Jesus. We ought to be aware of the heavenly combination that produces better. Better than yesterday and better than we can imagine. With God we go from glory to glory and we can expect exceedingly more than our wildest dreams. Better days are ahead of us all the time. God guarantees that we will have better and greater. Our circumstances might be saying otherwise but what God says is what matters the most.

Friend, you haven’t seen your best days yet. You have not stepped into the next level, the next dimension yet. There will always be another place that is better and that is more amazing. Stay in the winning combo and you will experience a life of abundance. You will live out a life where Jesus is magnified, peace is sovereign, joy is your strength, love is your default setting and victory is a lifestyle. You have what it takes to make it in this life and you will make it powerfully. Every day you should remind yourself that Jesus is Lord over everything. The devil might be the king of this world but Jesus is the King of Kings and He will always be greater than the enemy. Greater is the One who is in you, friend, than the devil that is in this world. This truth alone guarantees that things will always improve and get better. The adversity has a different take on what’s happening and what’s going to happen in your life. Don’t worry about his opinion. Go with God’s plans for your life. He has plans to give you more and to stay with you forever. Forever! Forever includes the bad days and the good days. Forever never ends. God’s love for you will never end so expect blessings to never end. Better days are coming and that truth will never end. You have Jesus, you have (some) faith and you apply the Word of God and therefore you have all you need! Expect great things. Expect God things. Expect powerful things. Expect Jesus every day. Bad things will take place. That’s inevitable but Jesus will also happen so to speak. That as well is inevitable!

Applying the Word of God entails walking in faith and walking in love. Faith without love doesn’t work as well. Love is the umbrella that covers every good spiritual fruit. We have love because we are in Christ. Faith tells us that we should express love and love others as ourselves. It’s up to us to follow the lead that faith is giving us. We have an active role to play here and it is not always an easy role. We have reasons to be bitter, to be resentful and to be selfish every single day. The enemy gives us those reasons but it doesn’t mean they are valid at all. We are called to react with love and not with our flesh. God is love and if we are going to successfully navigate through this life with Him we have to walk in love in all circumstances. Love is the glue that ties everything together. Love is the key ingredient that makes the combo work for us. Love is a link that keeps us chained to the truth and that gives Jesus all the glory. He is the most important part of the heavenly combo. Without Him, we are nothing. Without Him, the better days will not come. Without Him, peace, joy and blessings are nowhere to be found. The world can give us a pale imitation but Jesus is the real deal. Keep celebrating Jesus your Savior. Keep walking in faith and walking in love. Keep being a doer of the Word who perseveres and who always expects great things from God. Expect fantastic things to happen in Jesus’ name. May God bless you and protect you and remember that He will always love you!

Be ready for anything

Be ready. Be prepared. Be ready for anything. Be ready for everything. Be ready for the blessings. Be ready for the trials. Be prepared to face adversity. Be prepared to rejoice and to celebrate Jesus. Be ready all the time. This is a message I have been getting for a while now. It is a message that invites us to be ready by spending time with God. It is the best way we can be ready for anything. The Holy Spirit gets us ready. If we don’t spend time with God, we have less preparation and we don’t understand the ammunition and the protection we receive from the Lord. There has to be dedicated time for the Lord on a daily basis if we want to live a successful Christian walk. Now, time with God will not prevent bad things from happening but it will teach us how to react and how to act when things go astray. I used to pray more only when I was facing difficulties. When all was well, I would say my regular morning and evening prayers but nothing else. When the going got tough, I would spend more time on my knees until I learned that was not how it worked. God is not the God of last minute prayers. God is not a Person we should consult more only when we need Him. The truth is we need Him all the time. We tend to think that we need Him more when we are in trouble. It is not true. We need Him every day the same way. Our communion with Him should not depend on our circumstances but on who He is to us. He is God. He is our Savior and our Deliverer. He deserves our time and attention and that time and that attention also help us be ready for anything.

When I was in school and I had to study for a big exam, I used to chunk my study time and do a little bit every day. I tried to get ready just the day before the exam but it never worked too well. I needed more time to engage with the material and I needed to be more exposed to the concepts. God wants us to study on a regular basis so we can be ready for any situation that might come our way. I am talking about bad situations and good ones as well. What does the study involve? The goal of this study is to know Him more and to love Him more and to understand Him more. When we are secure in His love, when we are aware of who He is and when we understand that nothing is impossible to Him, we can face anything. We have the confidence that He’s got this. Now, we can gain that confidence for a while and then lose it. We usually lose it if we are not consistent with the studying I am talking about. Winning one battle of faith doesn’t mean we can rest on our laurels and take a break. The study I am mentioning is not homework per say. It is being persistent in our pursuit of a great relationship with God. It sounds like work but when you do it constantly, you realize that it is not work. It is a lifestyle. The best lifestyle there is. Life can throw anything at us and Jesus can catch it all when we trust Him and we stay in communion with Him.

When bad things happen, we can easily go into panic mode. When we are prepared having spent time in the Word, in prayer and praise, panic mode doesn’t affect us. It is a function that doesn’t work. The devil tries to push our buttons but the panic button is disabled by the power of communion with Jesus. I see it in my own life. I see a difference when I have spent time with the Lord. I see how I react and I can only give God the glory. When I am ready and I am prepared, the floodgates of Heaven take over my life even in the middle of chaos. I have this peace that doesn’t make sense and a boldness that makes me declare that Jesus is King despite my difficulties. I am working on being ready all the time. It is worth it. It is an amazing habit. Today I am encouraging you to get ready and to be prepared. Don’t wait until calamity hits you to start praying. Don’t wait until the bills are overwhelming to ask for God’s help. Don’t wait until confusion is strong. Read the Word. Praise the Lord. Speak God’s sovereignty over your life. Spend time with the Holy Spirit. Let it be just you and Him. He will prepare your heart and show you how to stay strong during tribulations, how to praise the Lord and how to thank Him. He is the best helper. He is the One who can prepare you for all circumstances. Take the time. Study. Communicate with God. You will be amazed at how you approach life. May God bless you and protect you and remember that He will always love you!

Blessings on the way

I don’t know who needs to hear the following message but it came to me like rapid fire and I strongly believe the Lord is talking to someone who needs it today. It could be you, friend! God’s blessings will come. God’s blessings will come back. They are not too far. They have not vanished. What you have to do is hang onto hope and trust that things are going to get better. You are going to have a better tomorrow. Your present day sufferings don’t compare to the glory that’s to come. Jesus’ glory is going to shine in your life again. You are going to see His love manifested in a big way. His love never dwindles and nothing can stop Him from loving you. You are not going through a hard time now because God doesn’t love you as much. You are going through this season because life has its ups and downs but even when you are in the valley, God is watching over you. Don’t fret. Don’t panic. The Holy Spirit is in you and God is with you. Great days are coming. You have seen nothing yet. What God is going to do for you is going to silence the negative thoughts and the fears that have been crippling you. The best is yet to come and that is an understatement. God is lining up blessings that are going to take your breath away. The blessings are going to rain on your life. It is going to be a heavy downpour of God’s goodness. This is going to be unprecedented but God can turn it into a lifestyle for you.

A few weeks ago when I was praying, the Lord softly asked me to embrace His life of blessings. I believe He blesses us and I believe in miracles but I needed a nudge. I needed a deeper revelation about the life of blessings He has for us. It is not a life void of difficulties. It is a life where blessings overcome trials and tribulations are conquered. I have said this before but I have to say it again. Jesus never promised that we would live on a bed of roses with no problems. He declared that the problems would come and He also said that He had conquered them. When we stay in Him, when we trust Him despite the hard times, blessings come. There are many blessings listed in the Bible and you, dear friend, are entitled to them as you keep your faith in Jesus. You have the blessed assurance that if you knock on His door, He will answer. Knock away. Let your prayers be knocks on the door of Heaven. The Lord is right there and He can give you what you need and more. Expect a life of blessings. Expect miracles. Have faith in the miraculous. It doesn’t matter if nothing extraordinary is happening around you. Dig inside your heart and you will find the peace that is a true miracle. God gives only good things and He is doing a great work in you. He is not done. He is not finished. You are going to go from glory to glory.

A life of blessings is a life lived with the awareness of Jesus and with faith in His Word. Jesus is the biggest blessing of all and when you lean on Him, only great things ensue. He rights your wrongs and He fixes your life. Not only can He fix what’s broken but He can replace it with blessings out of this world. His blessings are making their way to you, friend. It is a truth that you should keep close to you. Write it on the walls of your heart. Engrave it in your mind. Speak it all the time. Jesus loves you. He died for you. He died so you would have life in abundance. Abundance is being delivered into your life. Grab it with your hands of faith. Reject the lies of the enemy. It is going to get better. Things are going to be really good for you. The Lord is taking extremely good care of you. Declare His blessings into your life. Embrace His life of blessings. Embark on a higher journey of faith where you dare to believe in the impossible. You are going to make it and you are going to bless so many people because God’s blessings for you are meant to spill out and touch others. Don’t throw in the towel. Amazing things are going to take place. Stay encouraged! May God bless you and protect you and remember that He will always love you!

God’s light

When I got eye surgery, my life completely changed. I went from having to wear contacts or glasses all the time to be being able to see all the time without any assistance. It was like night and day. I never thought that I could ever see that clearly without glasses. It was as if I had stepped into a new dimension. Everything looked so real and so true. It is hard to explain but what I can say is that it was one of the best moments of my life in terms of transformation. However, the best moment of my life, hands down, was when I got saved. It was a similar experience but on a much higher level. I went from being spiritually blind to being able to see the light. I had lived in darkness for a while. I had had glimpses of hope and glimpses of who the Lord was all about but those glimpses didn’t compare to the real thing. They were nice previews that gave me a reason to pursue Jesus. Those insights into who the Lord was were like contacts and lenses that allowed me to see the truth for a short time. When I got saved, the light became permanent and I was able to see what I had been missing my whole life. The light of the Lord is such a powerful tool in our lives and we should never underestimate it. We should cherish God’s light and His truth and keep walking in it with our spiritual eyes wide open.

The Word of God is a lamp into our feet. His Word is the lamp that can guide us into all things. We can never stay in the dark when we follow the lamp of the Lord. We should actually spend a lot of time in His Word so we can be enlightened and filled with wisdom. The amount of darkness that is in the world is huge and we need to work against so many principalities and powers. The power to counteract those evil forces is only found in the Lord and His Word gives us instructions on how to stay in His light and how to avoid the traps of darkness. When I read the Word of God, it is like a light is turned on and I can see into some of the mysteries of God. This happens when I read and study the Word prayerfully. When I get in sync with the Spirit of God, His Word comes alive and I dive into the wonderful world of our Savior. I love spending time in the Word especially when the world is so chaotic. I find peace and I find joy when I am in the Word. I strongly encourage you to make it a habit to turn on the light of the Lord and to stay under the rays of His great love. His light will refresh you and invigorate you. It will open your eyes and it will close the doors to the darkness that tries to mislead you. God’s light is the truth that you need to be set free so embrace His light, embrace His Word.

When someone turns on a light, darkness scatters. Some people would say that darkness disappears and I love that idea as well. God, the light, can make your darkness disappear when you turn on His light. Your enemies, your fears and your doubts will scatter when you turn on the light of the Lord. How do you turn it on? Like I mentioned earlier, the Word of God is the light you need and being familiar with it is crucial. Making sure that the Word of God has an important part in your life is extremely helpful. Jesus brings light and He is the light so daily communion with Him also allows you to turn on the light that will always set you free. Jesus will not only give you insights into who He is and how He made you but He will teach you how to live a fulfilling life in Him. He is the light that keeps on giving more light so don’t expect Him to ever be extinguished in your life. He is always on. You might have to adjust how you connect with Him but He is always on and always ready to shine in your life. He is like that permanent contact lens that enables you to see clearly at all times. Jesus will help you deal with all forms of spiritual blindness so stick to Him and stay close to Him. He is the best light you will ever find. May God bless you and protect you and remember that He will always love you!

No complaints

There are a lot of challenges on social media. Some of them I don’t really understand. I guess they are really entertaining for some people who get a kick out of them. Some challenges are quite interesting and they bring a lot to the people who take them. I like to challenge myself. I don’t do it in a competition against others but I challenge myself against myself. I have started praying for direction about some challenges that I should take for my spiritual growth. The one the Holy Spirit suggested recently was the “no complaint” challenge. The Lord inspired me to spend a week without complaining about anything. He put it in my heart to be complaint-free for a whole week in my actions and in my words. The goal is for that week to eventually turn into a month and to turn this whole thing into a lifestyle. A life with no complaints is a life well-lived to the glory of God. We complain so much. Complaining is part of our DNA and it comes naturally to a lot of us. Complaints take on different forms and they are hard to perceive at times. We don’t call complaining by its right name when it is so ingrained in us. God wants us to be honest with ourselves and to call a spade a spade. Today I want to invite you to take the “no complaint” challenge with me. Decide that from now on you will pay attention to your complaining and you will work on eliminating it from your life. It is a process and it takes work and effort but it produces great fruit. Jesus calls us not to complain but to rejoice in all things and to keep a grateful heart.

The other day after my morning prayer, I went over the things I needed to take care of that day. I had quite a few errands to run and a meeting to attend. Then the invigorating thought that I had nothing to complain about came to mind. I had a lot to do but in reality none of it was bad. None of it made my life difficult. None of it made me miserable unless I chose to be miserable. None of if was negative in itself. It might have been tedious but a lot of people would love to have the tedious tasks I had. I needed to see them as blessings and not as annoyances. I was blessed to be so busy. I was blessed to have a full schedule. The Lord was whispering to my heart that I had nothing to complain about. I could choose to complain but if I did I would be choosing to do something that the Lord doesn’t want me to do. I would be going against His will and I would be magnifying my flesh instead of letting my spirit take over. My spirit wants to embrace the fruit of the Spirit because I am saved. Your spirit, friend, wants to feed on the fruit of the Spirit and express those wonderful nine traits. Love is at the top of the (spiritual) fruit pyramid. Love doesn’t complain. Love doesn’t focus on what’s wrong. Love sees the good and rejoices over the goodness of the Lord even when things are not going well. Love rejects complaining and that is what I need to adopt in my life. The love attitude is everything!

The “no complaint” challenge consists in simply not complaining about anything. Complaints can be verbal or physical. Our bodies know how to express complaints very well. Look around and observe people and you will notice how body language speaks negatively very easily. The “no complaint” challenge encourages us to not speak about anything negatively and to no complain about anything including small little things. We can do it. We can make sure we don’t say anything that puts the Lord down. Complaining is actually undermining the Lord. When we complain we tell Him what He gives us is not good enough. We tell Him the people in our lives are not good enough. The Bible tells us to watch what we say and to not give way to negative talk. Complaining is negative talk. You might feel better when you complain but it hurts you more than you know spiritually. It creates holes in the fruit of the Spirit that are trying to grow in your life. You end up with half of the apple of love and half of the strawberry of patience so to speak. Our fruit in the Lord should be complete and negativity causes things to decay and fall apart in no time. Complaining is a sport for some of us and we ought to give it up and take on more positive challenges. Love is the best challenge we can take on and when we walk in love we definitely walk in God’s will. Spend the next week focusing on what you say and banish complaints from your life. You will see some very positive changes every day. Stay positive. Stay with Jesus. May God bless you and protect you and remember that He will always love you!
