Start the day with praise

In the morning as I get ready for the day, I praise God. My morning prayer always starts with praise. Praise is the power that generates my spiritual life. Praise gives you spiritual altitude and allows me to soar above the feelings and the emotions that try to grab me in the morning. I don’t let negative feelings and thoughts dictate how my day is going to be. I let praise lead the way. I don’t want to fall into negative thinking patterns first thing in the morning so I give praise a go and it takes me to a place of hope, joy and peace. Today I want to encourage you to start your day with praise. Praise God for the day. Praise Him for what He is going to do and for what He is doing for you right now. Let praise be the voice that dominates your morning. Don’t give in to doubt and worry. Give in to praise. Thank God because you are going to have an amazing day. Thank God because He is going to carry you throughout the day. Thank God for blessing you and for giving you the opportunity to be a blessing all day. Thank God for the day. Do it every single day. Star the day with praise and your day will end up being the best day ever, every day!

What do you feel like doing when you first wake up? Does your mind want you to go through all the bad things that have been happening? Do you anticipate hardships and problems? The mind is a stronghold that can keep us captive and keep us in a state of turmoil. We don’t have to leave our bed to have a bad day. The enemy can start our day on a bad note if he has us where he wants to be, in a mental jail where overthinking is our master. Let’s not be slaves to our minds. Let’s not be ill-treated by the negative chatter the enemy whispers in our ears first thing in the morning. Let’s be loud and shout praise. Let’s start the day with positive declarations. Let’s be louder than the whispers of the enemy and let’s give our joy an outlet. There is much joy in praise. There is much joy in the words of our gratitude and thanksgiving. Let’s praise the Lord with all our hearts so that our minds remain silent in the morning. Let’s give our minds good things to think about with praise. Praise is the tool that fixes our minds. It is the tool that focuses on the goodness of God and that suppresses the lies of the enemy. Start the day with praise and you will start the day with God’s presence. His presence will change your mood and your emotions and set you up for a successful day.

I love starting the day with praise because it gets me closer to God and it brings His amazing presence into the scene. His presence is wonderful. Who wouldn’t want to start the day without God’s presence? I believe that every believer wants to but the opposition wants to be glorified in the morning so God can be shut down. We ought to praise and lift up the name of Jesus. We can’t let the enemy win when we first get up. Jesus won all the battles we will ever face and praise is a shout of victory and triumph. Friend, start the day with Jesus’ victory. Start the day with triumph. Start the day with the blessed assurance that the day is going to be an extraordinary day in the name of Jesus. It will impact your day in a very powerful way. Keep praising the Lord throughout the day. Sustain the praise and the Lord will sustain your joy and your peace. Jesus deserves all your praise and attention first thing in the morning and all day long. Your praise makes the devil tremble. Create a heavenly earthquake with your praise so the enemy can’t stand still. Resist him and he will flee. Praise will make him flee so do it right away when you wake up and keep it going. May God bless you and protect you and remember that He will always love you!

Getting comfortable with God

I feel very comfortable with the Lord. I never used to be that comfortable. I used to feel weird when people would praise the Lord in church raising their hands and loving Jesus so much. It was very awkward for me and I felt like I didn’t belong in church. I was weirded out by the outpouring of love and by the love that came from God. I did not know how to behave and how to receive from God. I had a hard time fitting in. At least that is how I perceived the whole experience. Comfort and God didn’t mix. I had this idea of a God who didn’t want me and who didn’t bother getting to know me. I hated that feeling. I believe that my spirit knew the truth and wanted me to get comfortable with God.

I have come a long way thanks to the Holy Spirit. When I gave in, the Spirit picked up where I couldn’t go. He showed me that God wanted an intimate relationship with me and He wanted me to be extremely comfortable with Him. The truth is we, believers, should be more comfortable with God than we are with people. However, people are so easy to access and to spend time with that it is very comfortable getting close to them. We can get closer to God. We can get into a comfort zone with God where faith abounds and love is dominant. Today I am inviting you to get comfortable with God. Get to know Him so well that He becomes the Father you are meant to know and love.

One thing that truly helped me was understanding that the Holy Spirit was a Person and not just some being floating around. I learned that He had feelings and that He was a real Person. When Jesus sent us His Spirit, He sent us a wonderful Person, a great friend and an essential family member. We belong in the family of the Lord and we can develop a very strong bond with Him through His amazing Spirit. I started acknowledging the Holy Spirit in all I did. I started talking to Him the way I talked to people I knew. I asked Him to reveal Himself to me. That was the turning point. My desire to know Him and expressing that desire with an earnest heart made a huge difference.

I invited the Holy Spirit into my life and I asked Him to take over. I was aware that I was His temple and I wanted Him to be the head of my temple. We get to know God better when we surrender to Him and we give Him control. He will lead us into this beautiful journey of discovery, discovery of His love and of His personality. The Holy Spirit is a Gentleman and the sweetest Person you will ever know. He will help you decipher His Word and assist you when you pray. Bible study and prayer are two crucial parts of getting to know God and becoming more comfortable with Him. We can’t get to know God if we don’t talk to Him and we don’t listen to Him. His Word is important and we should read it prayerfully and with discernment. Love is the common thread in the Word of God and we have to read and study the Word with the love filter.

I am very comfortable with family members and with close friends. I can be myself with them and they can be themselves with me. When we get comfortable with God, we see Him for who He is and we can be ourselves with Him. We can be vulnerable, open and honest. That is the best way to be. I suggest you talk to God as much as you can. I suggest you listen as much as you can. Practice listening. Practice getting quiet and expecting to hear from Him. Get familiar with silence and with His eloquent love that will speak to you.

It takes daily interaction to get to know someone well. That is what I do with God. I interact with Him all the time. Prayer made me more comfortable with Him. It made such a difference. My prayer for you is that you get to know Him well and that you are so comfortable with Him that you will be able to open up all the time and you will receive what He has to give you which is His unconditional love. There is a higher level of comfort with that God that we can reach. It is not impossible. It should be one of goals in life to know Him the best way we can. May God bless you and protect you and remember that He will always love you!

He will come to your rescue

God rescued me. He came to my rescue when I was in the biggest trouble. When my life had no meaning and I was stuck in a vicious cycle of pain, anxiety and bad luck. He took me out of that cycle and placed His cycle on top of it replacing my misery with His glory. He came to my rescue and I owe Him everything. I didn’t believe I could get out of what was stifling me but with God I learned how to breathe again and how to enjoy life. His rescue mission was subtle but it was extremely effective. He took care of me and gave me a better life and a relationship like no one else could.

God can rescue. God can save. He is an expert at saving and at rescuing His people. If you know Him, trust that He can keep rescuing you and saving you from what is bothering you and what is derailing you. If you don’t know Him, know that God can rescue you and give you eternal life through His Son Jesus. He can take your spirit and make it new. He can give you a new lease on life and right all the wrongs that the enemy dumped on you. You can have a glorious life in the name of Jesus. You can be saved and you can start anew. Where you are now is not where you will be forever. Turn to the Lord and ask for help. He will rescue you and bless you!

When we call upon the Lord, He hears us and He replies. He comes to our rescue and makes all things better. My advice to you is that you open your heart to Him. Spill all that is on your heart. Give it all to Him. Confide in Him. Describe your pain. Talk about your suffering. Tell Him about your trials and tribulations. Tell Him everything. He loves hearing your voice and He will do something for you. He will rescue you and take you to a place where you will get to know Him and you will experience great love and great peace. He comes with a lot of peace.

When God rescues you, He removes the fear and the stress and gives you peace. As long as you go with it and you let Him lead the way, He will do that for you. Know that His love for you is unconditional and it has no boundaries. He loves you so much that He gave His Son Jesus Christ. Jesus not only died for your sins but He died so you could have eternal life. That eternal life starts the minute you accept Him as your Lord and Savior. Having Jesus as your Lord and Savior is the best thing that could happen to you. I pray that you know Jesus. I pray that if He is already your Savior, you get to be closer and closer to Him. We will always need rescuing. We need to be rescued from tough situations, from our overthinking minds, from fear and doubt. The good news is that God will never stop blessing us and saving us from evil.

Now, no matter what is going on in your life. No matter how bad things are, you need to hear that God will come to your rescue. He is not done helping you. He is not done loving you. He will rescue you and keep you safe. Turn to Him and He will turn things around. You are going to be blessed beyond your wildest dreams. God is going to save you from what is hurting you and He is going to give you that sweet peace that surpasses all understanding.

He will come to your rescue and show you that He is still God and He is still good. He still reigns and He can still do the impossible. God will come to your rescue and set you free. He is not limited and He is not bound by anything. His love for you is the only thing that binds Him so to speak. He is bound to His promises that are wrapped in His love so trust that He will shield you and protect you. You are going to get through this, friend. The Lord of Lords, the King of Kings will come to your rescue. Stay strong and stay encouraged. Help is on the way. May God bless you and protect you and remember that He will always love you!

Don’t leave your faith behind

Yesterday as I was riding the bus in the suburbs of Paris I noticed something peculiar at a bus stop. I looked out the window and I saw a crutch sitting on a bench at the bus stop. There was no one around. No one to claim it. It was just there on the bench in its lonesomeness. We didn’t stop there for long but long enough for me to see that the crutch had been abandoned. Who would leave it behind? Wasn’t it needed for support and to help someone walk? It made me think about how I sometimes leave my spiritual crutch behind. I leave it behind and I try to walk on my own when I should really be using it. A crutch is a device that helps support a person after they have suffered an injury or just because they are unable to stand on their own. It could be the way the person has been their whole life. The support of the crutch can be life changing and life saving.

My spiritual crutch is my faith. I can’t go anywhere without it. I can’t stand on my own without it. Yet I tend to leave it somewhere and venture into life barely standing and barely making it. We can’t leave our faith at church on Sunday and spend the rest of the week without it. We can’t trade our faith for another crutch that is not sturdy enough. I have done that way too many times. My faith is in the Lord. My faith is in Jesus and now I wouldn’t trade Him for the world. Is He also a crutch? Certainly. Sometimes the idea of a crutch is negative. It makes you sound like you can’t do anything without support. I beg to differ. My crutch is vital. My crutch is everything. I will use my crutch forever. My faith in Jesus is a powerful crutch and I am not afraid to use it as much as I can. I am working on not leaving it in places I can’t go back to. I am working on using it all the time no matter what life throws at me.

Today, friend, I am here to encourage you not to leave your faith behind. Don’t go to a place of worship, get filled up with hope and then walk away without hope. Our faith in the Lord should be inside the church and outside the church. It should be our way of navigating this world all the time. It should be the crutch that takes us on the road despite all the obstacles. It should be the device we rely on to overcome all obstacles and to keep walking. Faith is a powerful device that can take us places. It can take us to lands of hope and bliss that we couldn’t get to on our own. Let’s use the support of faith in Jesus every day. Let’s rely on Him and let’s not lean our own understanding. Our understanding can be filled with confusion and powered by doubt. Our understanding is feeling and emotion based. The crutch of faith is Jesus based and it is full of love and peace. Faith comes with peace. When we walk in faith, we have the assurance that everything will be alright. We don’t look at the world and react to it with fear. We react with hope. We react with Jesus. We know that nothing is impossible with Him. The crutch of faith helps us stay in that state of mind and it gives us the ability to keep on going.

Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.”* When we have faith in Jesus, we believe in His name. We believe that He reigns and He is supreme. We stay strong with that divine crutch and we don’t stand on anything else. In this verse from Psalm 20, David talks about people who trust in other gods and in elements other than the Lord. I am done trusting in chariots and other crutches that hold no power and no truth. Jesus is my crutch for life and I am proud to be standing here today thanks to Him. My prayer is that you will continue to use the crutch of faith and that you will not leave it anywhere. I pray that you don’t abandon faith but that you hold on to it all the time. May God bless you and protect you and remember that He will always love you!

That your joy may be full

“Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.”* I pray in the name of Jesus. I pray to the Father in the name of His Son Jesus. His Son is the getaway to the Father. His Son is the truth, the way and the life. God blesses prayers in the name of His Son. When we pray in the name of Jesus, we pray with the knowledge that Jesus is King. We pray knowing that we are heard in the name of Jesus. We pray in the name above all names. We pray with power. We pray with authority. We pray in the name of the One who performs miracles. We pray with the assurance that the Lord will do something. I ask in the name of Jesus and I receive the best the Lord has to offer.

God’s answer might not be what I expect at all but I do believe that I get the best answer possible because I pray in the name of the One who is the best. Think about it. When you pray in the name of Jesus, you pray in the name who defeated death and who gives eternal life. That is quite a powerful Savior we have. Now, when we pray and we receive from the Lord, our joy is full. God gives us so we can half full joy. It is not partial joy. It is not earthly joy. It’s joy from the Lord. His joy is our strength. Jesus gives us joy not like the world does. His joy is above typical human joy. He gives us so we have something to rejoice over. We should always rejoice over Jesus no matter what but He gives us so our joy is complete.

Today I want to encourage you to pray in the name of Jesus and to trust that you will receive. You will receive God’s best and your joy will be complete. When you have a joy that is full, you have so much strength. Like I said before, the joy of the Lord is our strength. It allows us to face the day with peace. It allows us to stay in praise mode. It allows us to stand our ground and to stay on solid ground. It allows us to spread love and joy. His joy is so precious and unique that we can’t keep it to ourselves. It is what people need and you and I have it. I see my level of joy as being a good level but when I receive from the Lord, my joy level goes higher.

I have had “joy highs” where I have experienced a joy that was beyond anything I had experienced before. I get that joy when I am in prayer or when I praise. Let me remind you that when you ask God to give you joy in the name of Jesus, He gives you a lot of it. Have you asked the Lord for joy? Have you prayed and asked in the name of Jesus? It is more than ok to ask for joy. Joy is a fruit of the Spirit so we have it in us but at times we need to dig it out and let it come to the surface. At times we need the fruit to fertilize our soil and get rid of the weed of sadness and anxiety. The joy of the Lord heals. It mends broken hearts and it gives hope.

Pray today in the name of Jesus. Pray for your needs. Pray for other people’s needs. Keep on praying. Ask and know that you have been heard. Let joy take over. Let the joy come before the answer. When you pray, you can pray with confidence and that confidence will trigger joy. I love to praise more than I ask. I ask once in the name of Jesus and then I keep on praising the name of Jesus. The praising part is full of joy. The praising part is what we need to do a lot. God gives so generously. We can expect great answers to our prayers. The answers will sustain our joy and make it even bigger. Our joy is full thanks to the Lord of Lords. Pray in the name of Jesus, friend. Great joy is on the way. God gives like no other and His joy is like no other joy. Stay strong in the Lord and you will be highly blessed. May God bless you and protect you and remember that He will always love you!

Take courage and take heart

Take courage and take heart. Your situation now is temporary. This storm will pass. Get on the boat of hope. Stay on the boat of hope. God is going to help you weather this storm. I know it might look bad now. I know it might be bad now but you have a God who can calm any storm including the one you are in today. When the wind is blowing hard and you are in the sea of turmoil, remember that Jesus is your anchor. Jesus can keep you safe. He will not let you drown. He will not let you perish. He will be with you throughout the storm. He is with you now. Your goal should be to see Him now and to recognize that you are not alone. It is not easy. I know but you can get there.

You can get to a place where you can see His beacon of hope through this foggy situation. He is right there with you. His light is shining. He is beaming with hope. He is beaming with love. He will not forsake you and He will not let you down. He is with you for the long haul and He doesn’t jump ship when the going gets tough. You have protection. You have a shield. You have a defender. You have all you need to make it through this tough time. Take courage and take heart. The Lord is by your side and He is going to change this storm into a story. A good story. A good testimony. Be ready for a change. Be ready for a shift. Be ready for God to do what He does best. He can save anyone like no one else. He can save you like no one else so keep your hopes high. Stay encouraged!

“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.”* This verse should be your anthem today if you are going through a storm. If you are going through a hard time, make this verse your declaration. Say it over and over again. Speak like David. Know that you have the same God David had. Speak that truth and fight against the lies of discouragement that are crippling your mind. When we are in a storm, there is a major battle in our minds. There is a major conflict between good and evil in our minds. We have to deal with our heads and keep negativity at bay. The Word of God can help us do that.

The Word of God can give us courage and strengthen us. Use the Word today. It will keep you strong. It will show you that during the storm you have a shelter and that shelter is the Lord. Take refuge in the Lord. Find your safe place in Him. Cover yourself with His love and protection. Keep saying the declaration of David and keep thanking the Lord for being your refuge. This storm is not going to be the end of you. Jesus is going to put an end to this storm. He is going to tell the storm to stop raging war in your head as you speak His Word and you stand your ground. Stand on Jesus. Stand on His amazing promise. You are going to make it. You are going to be more than fine. You are going to come out of this storm and be great. Take courage. Help is here today. Take heart. God is going to do more than you can imagine.

When we walk in the valley of the shadow of death, we encounter many storms and we can’t always find an umbrella or a safe place. However, with the Lord we carry an automatic umbrella. We carry a safe place and we ought to keep our focus on Him. I say this often but I need to repeat it now. Praise God in the valley. Sing His praises in the valley. Lift up His name now. Don’t wait until things get better. Don’t wait until you feel better. Do it now. Do it today. Praise God during this storm. Praise God and keep on praising Him. You will find courage while you are praising God. You will have the patience and the strength to weather the storm.

Praise is extremely powerful. Praise today. Praise despite how you feel. Praise and you will get through this. Praise and the doors of your mental jail will open. Praise brings hope. Praise brings freedom. Praise instead of focusing on the pain. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you praise. He is the praise whisperer. He will guide you and assist you. You are going to make it, friend. This storm is not going to last but the Lord in you will always be there. You are in the palm of the Lord and that is the safest place to be. Take courage and take heart. Things are going to get better in Jesus’ name. May God bless you and protect you and remember that He will always love you!

Not today

“Not today” can be a very powerful declaration. When you get up in the morning, tell the enemy “Not today.” Tell your doubts, “Not today.” Tell your fears, “Not today.” Say it every morning. Rebuke the enemy and his lies. Rebuke the fears and the worries. Don’t accept them. Don’t let them get ahold of your mind. Stand strong against the mental chaos the enemy wants you to experience all day. You are a child of God. You are a child of the most high. You have the power and the ability to resist all the attacks of the enemy. Start early. Start the day with confidence knowing that the Lord is backing you up. He crushed the devil with His powerful resurrection and you don’t have to be a victim of the enemy’s foolishness. Jesus won. Jesus won forever. Now you can live in victory. Victory is yours. Declare that early in the morning. Fight the good fight of faith and fight the battle of the mind. Fill up with hope. Fill up with joy. Fill up with peace. Stay connected to Jesus. Stay connected to His truth. Do it by refusing to subject to the enemy. Tell him, “Not today” and mean it. Today is the day the Lord has made. You will rejoice and be glad in it!

Don’t let today be the day the enemy keeps you in a mental jail. All he wants to do is make you believe that the Lord is far from you, that He is not listening to you and that you are going to have a bad day. Bad things are bound to happen. You can’t prevent them but you can choose how you react to them. You can react with a “Not today” attitude. You can react by rising above the situation and trusting that no matter what, today the Lord is with you. He is going to help you deal with anything. Deal with everything with the assistance of the Lord. Count on His help. Count on His protection. Count on His love to surround you and to bless you. Today is not the day you are going to be defeated. Not today. Today is not the day you are going lose hope. Not today. Today is not the day you are going to be worried and depressed. Not today. Today is not the day you are going to doubt and be confused. Not today. Today is not the day you are going to be weak and have no energy. Not today. Today is not the day you are going to fear. Not today. Today is the day the Lord has made. You are going to thriving and triumph. You are going to make it today with flying colors. You are going to be blessed and you are going to be a blessing. The enemy has plans for you. They won’t prosper today.

“No weapon formed against you shall prosper.”* The enemy has weapons ready to be destroy you every single day. He doesn’t stop and he is relentless. However, no weapon formed against you will be able to ruin your life and to destroy you. You have the most powerful One in you and with you. You can’t fail. Declare the truth about every day. Declare how God is blessing you and protecting. Declare today as the day the Lord has prepared for you. He is going to do something amazing and when things get rocky, He is going to calm the storm. Every attack of the enemy will be stopped. The enemy will fire his arms but no bullets will harm you. Stay in faith. Stay strong. Keep believing that today is not the day the enemy is going to get away with his mess. God’s grace and mercy are with you. “Not today, devil” should be your daily thought. Don’t think about how big the enemy is but think about how giant your Jesus is. You are blessed and highly favored. May God bless you and protect you and remember that He will always love you!

Stay strong in the power of the Lord

“Stay strong” says the LORD. Stay strong. You are going to make it. Stay strong because the power behind you is the Lord’s. Stay strong because greater is the One who lives in you than the one who is in the world. Stay strong because there is an army of angels backing you up in the name of Jesus. Stay strong because you have what it takes to make it today and tomorrow. You are strong in the Lord. Your job now is to stay strong. Sustain the strength and maintain it. How do you stay strong? How do you find the strength to keep going? Like I said before, you have to recognize that Jesus is your strength.

Jesus is the reason why you are strong today. Jesus is the power behind you and the reason why you can walk in peace and in faith. Tap into the power that dwells in you. Tap into Jesus. Focus on Jesus. Stay in Jesus. You can stay strong when you stay in the truth of who Jesus is. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. What He did on the cross is the same yesterday, today and forever. You have resurrection power in you. If you have never thought about it, take the time today to meditate on the One who is in you. Meditate on what He accomplished by dying and by coming back from the dead. It is the most amazing thing that has ever happened and it involves you. Since you are saved, you have taken part in the resurrection. Your old self died and now you are a new creature in Christ.

Jesus made you a new person. Your spirit was renewed. You have a new lease on life because of your Savior. Your old life is gone and now you have to focus on the new life in Christ. This new life implies that you are blessed and you have what it takes to make it in this world. You have Jesus. You have all you need. You have Jesus. You have resurrection power. You have Jesus. You have hope and peace. You have Jesus. You have joy and love. You have Jesus. You have miracle power. You have Jesus. You can do all things through Him who strengthens you. You have Jesus. You have all the power that is needed for every day.

Every task and everything you have to do, you can do it because Jesus is your strength. Stay strong by reminding yourself every single day that Jesus in you is your strength. Remind yourself of His precious sacrifice and how it impacted your life for the better. Remind yourself that the power in you is greater than the power of the enemy. Remind yourself that you are highly blessed and highly favored. Remind yourself that the power behind you goes before you and you have nothing to worry about and nothing to fear. Stay strong in the Lord because His promise to be your strength will always remain!

Stay strong by praying every day. Prayer is powerful. Prayer taps into the power of the Lord. Prayer is crucial. Keep on praying every day. Keep on talking to God. Keep on listening to God. Keep the lines of communication wide open. Tap into Heaven through your prayers. Your prayers matter. Your prayers are important. Your prayers are answered. Your prayers are the daily bread that keeps your spirit strong. Praise and sing to the Lord. There is something very special about praising the Lord. You and I were meant to praise the Lord. Not just on Sunday but every day. Praise Him every single day. You might think that you have no time. Pray that you find the time.

Praise is extremely important if you want to stay strong. Praise brings the power of the Lord unto the scene. Praise is the language of faith that aligns with the language of Heaven. It keeps you God-centered and it gives you boldness and confidence. Praise God all the time and you will stay strong in the Lord. Be sure to also give thanks to the Lord every day. Thanksgiving is giving God the glory for His unfailing love. Thank Him for His goodness. Thank Him for all the things He does and for who He is. You can stay strong in the Lord, friend. Keep your eyes on the Lord in you. Acknowledge Him in all you do and you will stay strong. May God bless you and protect you and remember that He will always love you! Happy Easter!
