Last night I woke up in the middle of the night because my stomach was bothering me. I knew it had to do with something I had had for dinner. I put my hand on my stomach and prayed. I prayed in the name of Jesus. I prayed healing into my body and rest for my stomach. I felt better almost right away. Then I went into what I call visitation mode. It was as if the Lord was visiting me and giving me a lot of information. I was lying there and information was downloaded into my mind. The Lord spoke about wisdom and how important it is. “Wisdom is more important than the riches of the world” is the message I received. I used to pray for money. I used to pray for wealth and then I learned that the Lord would supply my needs according to His riches in glory so I didn’t have to worry about money. I used to believe that God wanted me to be rich more than He was interested in my personal growth. I believe that when the Lord says He will supply our needs according to His riches in glory, He also refers to spiritual needs.
The growth of our spirit and the development and renewing of our minds are more crucial than material gains. God does provide money and material goods but He is Spirit and He is more interested in keeping our spirits strong and rooted in Him. When we are born again, we become new creatures in Christ. Our spirit is saved. However, we have to maintain it and to keep it strong in the Lord. Millions of dollars will not make that happen. Mansions and multiple cars will not get us closer to Jesus. I want my spirit to be as close to Jesus as possible. I want my spirit to reflect Jesus and to introduce Him to the world. Wisdom and knowledge from the Lord can make that happen. When we are listeners and doers of the Word, we grow. We change and we become stronger in the Lord. The message I listened to last night wasn’t a new message but it was a pertinent message.
We need to hear God’s messages and promises over and over again. Why? Because that is how we develop our faith. It is also primordial that we hear them a lot because the world and the enemy have many messages that compete with the Word of God. There are many messages from the Lord that we should keep close to our hearts and that should fill our minds. The message of God’s wisdom being more precious than gold is a powerful message these days because there is so much emphasis put on personal gain and wealth. It is a wakeup call. It is a great reminder. It is the message that leads to many spiritual riches. When you have God’s wisdom in your spirit, you are equipped with peace and you can face anything. God’s wisdom will help you deal with problems and trials more than money will. Money can only buy so much. It can’t buy peace of mind. It can give you a pale imitation of peace but true peace comes from the Lord.
Money is necessary but having a lot of it shouldn’t be our ultimate goal. Our goal should be to grow in the knowledge of the Lord and to understand that God’s love is the most powerful force in the universe. His love is what our minds and hearts should meditate on. His love is priceless and it is unconditional. My prayer is that we grow in wisdom and in love and that we pursue the heart of the Lord. It is more precious than all material things in the world. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of all wisdom. Stay strong in the Lord and rejoice over Him. May God bless you and protect you and remember that He will always love you!
