The Good Shepherd

I love how the Lord is our Shepherd. He is not only our Shepherd but He is a good Shepherd. He goes before us. He leads the way and He watches over us. He cares about every single one of His sheep. He would leave the 99 to go find that one missing sheep. Today you might be one of the 99 or you could be that missing sheep. It doesn’t matter because the Lord loves you very much and He sees no difference between you and the other sheep. He is your Shepherd all the time and He will never see you less than a sheep that He adores. If you are among the 99, keep enjoying His guidance and His love for you. If you are the missing sheep, know that you can make your way back to Him and He will take you back without hesitation. He is looking for you and He wants you back. He is waiting for you and He can’t wait to hold you and to show you how much He loves you. Now, you should keep in mind that even when you astray, the Lord is with you. You might have a hard time seeing Him and finding Him but He is there. Your Good Shepherd is following you. He wants you to follow Him again and He will help you find your way back. Nothing can separate you from His love. The Lord took care of your life on the cross and through the resurrection. All you have to do is believe and trust that He provided for you and that He is the Shepherd you should follow.

“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down His life for His sheep.”* Jesus laid His life for you. He gave up everything for you so you could have everything through Him. He did the impossible so great things would be possible in your life. He laid down the most precious thing that people have. His life was the perfect sacrifice. He gave it in exchange for your salvation. Remind yourself of that powerful truth every day. Jesus died for you so you can live in the abundance of His goodness. He is the Shepherd who supplies all your needs and who gives you the best life there is. Salvation is here. Your salvation doesn’t start when you go to be with the Lord. He is with you now and you are living out your salvation. Enjoy Him. Enjoy the Good Shepherd. Enjoy His Spirit. Enjoy His guidance and the direction He is showing you. He is your guide and your protector. You are in great hands. You are safe and you are highly blessed because of the amazing Shepherd you have. Don’t you forget that. Jesus the King of Kings is your Lord and Savior and your Shepherd. He will never stop watching over you. You are blessed. You are highly blessed. Follow Him where He leads you.

David declared that the Lord was His Shepherd. David knew a thing or two about being a shepherd. He knew that God being his Shepherd was the best thing that could happen to anyone. David lacked nothing. David had peace and joy. His soul was restored. He enjoyed green pastures and walked beside still waters. He understood that even though he walked through the valley of the shadow of death, he would get through the valley because the Lord was with him. The same goes for you, dear friend. When you walk through the valley of the shadow of death, Jesus is with you. He will lead you out of the valley. You are walking through it. You are not staying in the valley. Your Good Shepherd knows the way out. Follow Him. Follow His Word. Follow His encouragement. He will comfort you and take care of you. The faithful Shepherd has a covenant with you that He will not break. Walk in peace wherever you are knowing that the Good Shepherd is with you. Whether you are in the valley or on top of the world, the Good Shepherd is blessing you. Stay in His peace. Celebrate Him and lift up His name. You are under the protection of the Lord Almighty. May God bless you and protect you and remember that He will always love you!
