You can do all things through Christ who gives you strength

I was reading my Bible yesterday morning when Philippians 4:13 caught my attention. I have read this famous verse many times. I looked at it differently yesterday as I felt it was trying to tell me something I had not seen before. The translation I read says “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength”. The Lord highlighted this verse and put a special emphasis on the second half of the verse. “Through Christ who gives me strength” stood out a lot. I think many of us look at this verse as an empowering verse that gives us the energy to do things. If we focus more on what we can do instead of how we can do it, we can miss the point. This verse is not about us it is about the Lord. It is amazingly nice that it gives us the motivation to do all things but we must concentrate on how we can all things and who should get the glory for what we can do. We can also read it as “Christ can do all things through us when/as He gives us strength.” The Lord is the focal point here and He deserves all the recognition for what He can do through us. Today I want to spend time on this verse and let the Holy Spirit reveal some of the deeper meaning that is presented here. It is one of the most popular verses like I mentioned before and it is important to read it with through the eyes of “how is this glorifying the Lord, how does it speak His love, and how does it speak for Him?”

I would like to think that I can do all things in my own power but I know my limitations and I know that there is a lot I can’t do. Sometimes I feel strong and powerful and then something happens and my strength is gone and the power is nowhere to be found. There is so much that can influence our abilities to do things. Unforeseen circumstances and problems can debilitate us even though we believe we can handle anything. It’s not until trials arise that we find out what we are made of. Philippians 4:13 is a verse that shows us that we shouldn’t rely on our own strength to get the job done. It tells us that it is through Christ that we can do all things. It is not in our own power and our own strength. The creator of the universe allows us to go through life triumphantly because of Him. He is the power and the strength behind us. Next time you are faced with a problem, remember that you can handle it, not because of who you are but because of the One who is in you and by your side. The Lord will empower you and get you through that problem. He will melt the worry and destroy the fear if you let Him. Pray to Him and yield to His comfort. He always tells us not to worry because when we don’t worry, we give Him the ok to take over and do what He does best.

The power behind you is bigger than the adversity in front of you. Rest assured that when you keep your faith in the Lord, you will make it. You will be able to tap into the power that changes everything. Nothing will stop you because nothing can stop the Lord. Christ can do all things through you. Let Him be the One who dictates what you can do. Don’t let your mind take over. Don’t believe the lies of the enemy. Don’t give in to your emotions. All things are possible to those who believe. God can do the impossible through you when you believe. Once you have grasped this truth, you are going to do amazing things in the name of Jesus. Your life is going to take on a new meaning because “Christ in you” is going to make sense. You have a great purpose in this life and you can achieve it thanks to the Lord in you. You can do anything He puts in your heart when you acknowledge Him in all your ways. Stand firm in faith. Stay encouraged! You can do all things because Jesus gives you the power to do it. Always declare that nothing is impossible to you because nothing is impossible to the One who lives in you. The Lord you serve is invincible. Rejoice in Him and praise Him for all He enables you to do in His name!
