“God bless you” we say all the time. Yes, God does bless you. You are blessed beyond what you know. You are blessed in many ways. You are blessed wherever you go. Yes, God does bless you. You are blessed in the morning and you are blessed in the evening. God is blessing you right now. Why? How? God loves to bless His children. He is the best Father there is and His blessings are everlasting. He blesses us with eternal life and He blesses us with the best relationship anyone can have. God is blessing you right now because there are blessings He is lining up for you that you are not aware of. He is lining up good breaks and perfect situations so that you receive His favor. God does a lot behind the scenes and just because we don’t see Him in action doesn’t mean that He is not working on our situation right now.
What does it mean to be blessed? If we look for the origin of blessings, there is an old definition that can be found in the Old Testament. Genesis 27:28-29 says “May God give you heaven’s dew and earth’s richness— an abundance of grain and new wine. May nations serve you and peoples bow down to you. Be lord over your brothers, and may the sons of your mother bow down to you. May those who curse you be cursed and those who bless you be blessed.” This definition of blessings by God is pretty extensive. It covers a lot. God’s blessings are abundant. Maybe we don’t get the abundance because we are not well-informed about it and consequently we don’t have enough faith in it. From the beginning, the Lord said He would bless us with riches from heaven and from earth. Not just earthly blessings but heavenly blessings as well. Notice how heaven’s blessings are mentioned first in that verse.
God blesses us with heavenly privileges. It’s about time we learned what that implies for us. It means that we are entitled to blessings from above. We are entitled to a divine relationship with the Holy Spirit. We are entitled to the gifts of the Holy Spirit. We are meant to operate in the supernatural with the guidance of the Spirit of the Lord. Our blessings in the Lord are out of this world first and foremost. By faith we can access them. His blessings also include dominion over the earth. This dominion is presented as a way of saying that every good thing in earth belongs to us. He will make sure that we get the best fruit of the land and the best provisions ever. He also gives us favor with people.
His blessings are plenty. They are spiritual and they are material and emotional. God can bless you with a strong spirit. He can bless you with an amazing emotional makeup. God also blesses you by protecting you. Those who are against you won’t be able to harm you. He also blesses you by making you a blessing for others. That’s how wonderful our God is. God does bless you. Stay blessed!
